Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Help transmission Or Tps?

Ok posted last week but no response. Ok when mainting a speed usually between 40-50 mph the truck seems like it won't go into gear, when it goes into gear my tack goes crazy!! and the truck kind of bucks like rpm go in and out make sense? already replaced speed sensor no go, took to Amco and the guy told me that when they took the speed sensor out there was metal on it ok sooooo. . the person who had it b4 me towed heavy loads w/o putting it out of over drive whatever. Ok had a thought been reading about TPS cleaned mine up and whoohoo drving for a while it fixed well guess not... . started to do the same thing but this time not as often i'm thinking tps went to napa they don't have it only dealer item for $400. 00 or more. HELP I NEED SUGGESTIONS $3,000. 00 FOR transmission OR $400. 00 FOR SPEED SENSOR these are my every day wheels.

i have a 99 bought used, had the same problem i replaced the speed sensor then the transmission copmuter reflashed good for about 8 months then it came back not as bad but then started getting dead pedal so dealer sent me to schied diesel they changed the tps or apps or whatever they call it and the dead pedal was from the vp so now i have a hot rod and oh so sweet. hope some of that helps depending on low long it goes and how bad gets rather pricy the replaced the speed sensor cuz speedo wasnt moving till 30 mph.

Your truck doesn't have a TPS, it has APPS.

BY THE WAY THE TPS AND A APPS IS THE SAME THING. IT'S JUST A DIFFERENT NAME CUMMINS CALLS IT A TPS CHRYSLER CALLS IT AN APPS.

It's Fixed!!! Darn Tps Oh My Bad Apps For Those Of You Who Don't Know That It's The Same Thing Replaced Tps And Works Like A Charm.
