A question for the computer experts...

"We" stand outside a prison and protest the killing of an inmate who brutally murdered at least one person, then "we" protest outside an abortion clinic so we can have the right to "choose" to kill her unborn child.

What's wrong with this picture??

I'll support abortion when you can prove to me the very brutal crime that baby has committed!

No where in anyones post have I seen a request to be prayed for! For those praying, do it for yourself, not someone else.

I was doing a flooring job in college next to a Planned parenthood clinic outside of Boston in the early 90's. The protesters were abundant and getting in everyones face. One girl (13 years old) was going in the door with her father. Well, the protesters thought they had to "save" this girl from making a bad decsion. They grabbed the Girl, and we (father, myself, two coworkers) proceded to grab the protesters, and kick the living snot out of them.

Oh yeah, the 13 year old girl was doing a school report on the financial business that shared the same buiding as the clinic. She really needed to be saved from making the wrong decision. The two weeks I spent near the clinic showed me that those pro-lifers would go to any extreme to impart thier will on another person.

Straight6Jeff,

You're probably right - but then again, what balanced information is being presented by "Planned Parenthood". They are the most "pro-abortion" crowd in this country. They won't present an option to abortion because that goes against their business - and that's exactly what it is - a business.

You're right, it is a business. everything revolves around money, including organized religion.

Caldwell, I have also seen the pro-choicers at the fanatic level.

Just for arguments sake, if abortion was outlawed tomorrow, and a group lobbied and had a bill passed to limit the number of kids to one, how would the pro-life contingent view this?

Wheel

Would you be so kind as to point out where I interpreted the Bible?

Please be specific.

What have I written that does not hold water?

Again, please be specific.

Jay

Why is there a debate on this?

It comes down to a few basic things.

Parents need to teach their children!

Teach them the difference between right and wrong!

Teach them how a child is conceived!

Encourage your child to ask questions!

Have the courage to answer your childs question!

Hopefully when the time comes they are intelligent enough to make the decision to use at least one type of birth controll ( this does not mean two ply condoms) themselves.

If the kids you are now raising do not have the knowlege to make the correct decisions about sex, abortion etc..... it is not their fault.

I can not make decisions for other people, and I do not have any children. I have been called a Bible Thumper a few times, and honestly the "Label" does not bother me.

Most problems in this country can be traced to the family unit, or lack their of.

Very Well Said Diesel Freak

Just because someone considers themselves to be religious, does not relieve them of the responsibility of teaching their kids right from wrong. Simply hauling them to church twice on Sundays and again on Wednesday does not make them wordly in their thinking.

Some Christians I know think it totally inappropriate for a father to have input or responsibility for explaining conception and sex to their daughters. This is something I cannot even begin to understand. Granted it should be done in a age appropriate fashion, but I for one consider it my responsibility to my daughters (kids). Mine are not quite of age, but my wife has already began to field some interesting questions and has not just brushed them off. If I am present, we both take the questions very seriously and try not to put our answers in "clinical" terms. I don't worry about the questions they may ask, what worries me is when they STOP asking questions.

We require license to do most everything in this country... ... ... . except to bring children into it... ... .....

I agree... I hated going to church as a kid, my parents even made me be an Alter Boy. It took me a while to shed all the Catholic Guilt, and now I know that God does not care where you talk to him... just that you do talk to him!

Some 'Christians' I have met regard the word "Worldly" as something distastefull... . for some reason they think that as long as they keep their children in the dark about sex, conception and contraception. . they will be "Good Christians" well, I have news for them. In todays world ignorance can get you killed!

I Agree

Spent a fair amount of time in Church myself as a youth. I didn't hate it, just considered it a nusiance (sp). But later in life I have come to realize that I may have retained more than I thought I did while at Church.

I try to attend regularly, but my work schedule (shift work) can be limiting at times. My kids actually LIKE going to Sunday School now :D  . But I try to impress upon them (the older two) that simply going to Church and Sunday school is not always enough. If they feel the need to talk to God, it is O. K. to talk anytime, anywhere. We can all be religious without being there every Sunday.

This seems to have drifted a bit from the original topic... . :D

For those of us that cant get pregnant, I see the view is pretty good from the cheap seats. The supreme court says Abortion is legal so that is the law of the land. If you dont like abortion, dont get pregnant. I dont think that is a problem for those posting here.

No one here has even talked about the decision process women make or the trauma they go through when getting an abortion. Think they enjoy it?? This is something they have to live with the rest of there life, and for someone to call them a murderer is WAY out of line. Since when do any of you have the right to decide what someone else should do to there body.

I guess it works both ways. You have the freedom to judge others based on your personal standards, and I have the freedom to judge others on there ignorance.

I think I'm pregnant, what do you guys think I should do? Should I go ahead and bring another Doc Tinker into the world?

40 million babies aborted since Roe v Wade.

What a shame. What a sad, sad shame.

I'm willing to bet that in ~90% of those 40 million cases it would have been a bigger shame to carry those fetus' to full term & bring another life into this world.

40 million more children to primarily lower income mothers/parents would have only been more fodder for the pro-life/anti-welfare folks to **** & moan about welfare baby factories. It's a vicious cycle..... But then again we can't teach children sex education & birth control in school because it's the parents job.
