Stakeman, That woman has gotta be tired of waiting. Wish you the best.

JJ Who violated your pump? A wire tap or pump cover? Tapping the pump wire is fun.

Self violation Mike

Down to the last week then... No one happier than Mrs. Stakeman I'll bet.

Mach 1.5 EDM's

I'm starting to feel like a decent mechanic... EDM's installed in under 2 hours. Took it for a short spin tonight but tomorrow is the day!!! :D

Altitude sucks unless its for hunting, I got the Hybrid in not to long ago and it cleaned me up really well on the highway and when mashing it at higher boost levels but at lower boost I can still smoke with box off and the TC locked around town, I wish the EZ could have an off and on switch and still utilize the boost fooler... ... But what are ya gonna do

They do... It's called the comp box! :D That was originally why I bought the comp box over an EZ, but now of course the wire has been pierced, bigger injectors... .

I had a incab rotory switch on my EZ for the settings, also there are guys who have sourced the datalink connectors and put an in cab switch to do just what you mentioned. However Aaron at EDGE said to me if you do install a datalink switch you should only switch it with the ignition off.

It was a warm day here in Colorado!!!

I've got about as much injector as my smoke tollerance for heavy traffic can handle. I do like these 1. 5's... ... . The turbo can't keep her cool on the higher settting for much more than a quick trip to 80 on A hot one like today. It is fun to drive with the box off or on the lower settings also where EGT's are managable.

I hope I get more use out of these 1. 5's than i did with the 275's. They weren't even installed for a year. The EDGE EZ box may have been in for just about a year before being replaced by the Comp.

I bought the EZ to keep me from the pump wire temptation... ...

Didn't work... just delayed the inevitable!

I've ended up having to just keep the box off around town. Any amount of extra throttle at take off or any lugging will put out enough smoke to block out the traffic behind me (even on 1x1). The truck has plenty of pep with just the injectors. The smoke seems to have gotten worse over time. Maybe it's just me getting more annoyed with it.

At the dyno, I thought mine put out as much smoke as anyone else's and I only made 400hp. I'm sure I need more air, but it's a tradeoff at this point between hp and spool up, plus I don't want to have to replace my Pacbrake.

Hey Kevin

Dyno days last Saturday put me right in your HP neigborhood with the M1. 5's.

402 Hp was my highest HP.

I would highly recommend a TST powermax, or similar. I like the option of turning it on or having it off, and I also like the EGT limit feature. You cannot control EGTs as well with the throttle, as with the limiter.

Big A

Hi JJ,

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you in a while. I've been out of town a lot lately. I just got back last night and I'm heading out again tonight. I sure sounds like your Mach 1. 5's put down the same power as the DD2's. In my last post, I was complaining about too much smoke from the Comp box, but I have since realized that I had a bad MAP sensor and the Comp was covering up the malfunction. Since replacing the sensor, my smoke problems have gone away. I would like to hit the PFI dyno again and see what difference the sensor, AFE intake, and new fuel lines make. I don't expect there to be a big difference.

Have you swapped out that comp for a drag Comp yet? I'll bet you would be in the mid-90's at Bandemere.

Not yet just haven't got it done. You just call EDGE and arange a swap + cash right.

Where do you guys think Mach4s, Drag Comp, and B1-2 will put me hp/tq? With my 2s I have a hard time getting the thing to hit 1400 but only make about 36-38 psi. I'm pretty sure I need more fuel to spin this turbo. We shall see...

Thinking to self... I wonder if the 4s will spell the end of my stock clutch lol. My truck will break them lose in 3rd pretty easy with 35" tires... all on the stock clutch no less lol. I have a FE sitting in my garage but I want to smoke the stock one before I spend a weekend heavy lifting.

I too have a stocker clutch that's miraculously holding the power, though with stock 265s.

Mach 4s and a Drag Comp are enough fuel for 500-520hp if you have the air.

Unfortunately, the 4s are a little too much for the B1-2. The 4s and Drag comp will show you 1600° easy with that turbo and in your altitude.

Of course, the B1-2 makes a great secondary charger... ... .

I'd guesstimate that the edge of cooling for the B1-2 in your altitude is probably around the mach 2. 5-3 range. Probably closer to 2. 5, unfortunately.

Well I'm going to have a warm truck then cause my 4s are coming lol. Seriously, I still think it won't be as bad as it might seem since my 2s now obviously don't fuel that B1-2 enough to make decent boost. I guess I'll find out shortly. I hear ya on making a top turbo out of the B1-2 :)

Yeah, I've toyed with putting M4s with my stock charger mwahahahahaha! That should spool even a 16 or 18 housing just fine:)

Funny how these DD2s are just too clean, even at 6000 ft+.....

Justin

BTW-- M4s should push that B1-2 to 45-48psi... .
