How do you cancel the horn chirp when locking with the keyfob?

Hi everyone, when using the fob to lock an 06 2500, the horn and lights chirp. I'd like to cancel the horn chirp and just have the lights flash. I called my local dealer and the instructions I was given don't work. Anyone know how to do that?

To deactivate chirp: "stand outside vehicle with doors closed, press and hold lock button on fob, while holding after 3 seconds and before 10 seconds also press (both) and hold the panic button, release both buttons at same time". From 06 owners manual. By the way, welcome to the TDR. bg

Thank you for the information. This is my first forum membership and my first diesel. I had a 94 half ton Ram for 17 years, looking forward to at least as many with my new one.

If you do have the owners manual I would strongly recommend reading it. Vehicles today are complex and have so many features that you need the manual to understand how it all works. I know the first thing I do when a get a new vehicle is read the owners manual cover to cover. If you don't have one you can get an electronic copy from Chrysler on line
