I like the endless loop.
Have him count the number of steps in a mile.
Walking, jogging, and running. With any luck, he'll be worn out after the third mile, and sleep the rest of the day.
Have him sit at a busy intersection (out of traffic, preferrably, though it IS up to you) and keep track of all the cars that go by. Color, type, number of doors- nothing complicated.
Have him count the number of treads in your spare tire, but he cant mark the starting point. With luck, he'll be at that all day. THem make him walk, jog, and run.
Take him to Ebay, type in a basic word in the search feature (car, antique, truck, etc), and have him sort out the results
