I stumbled across this fascinating YouTube video while looking for something else. This factory seems to be in Pakistan. The photo shows the finished product. The link will take you to the eight minute video, which is fun to watch. It did make me wonder if just spinning on an empty can might be better for the engine, though.

Wow, thats amazing! They didn't show any of the guys with missing fingers or hands though. Pakistan makes a lot of surgical instruments for the less discriminating doctors to use. Amazingly cheap and crappy.
 
I have found some amazing videos of what appear to be Pakistani shops. In one video, a machine shop takes two broken crank shafts, cuts each to a semi-precision length, then welds them together. They get machined and placed into stock as rebuilt. It's here, and runs about 50 minutes.

Fascinating. I wonder if it comes with a rod knock.
