for the love of the Cummins

i have 250000. klms on my 01 2500 and 142000klms on my 01 3500 and the only reason i put up with these trucks is because off the cummins. i would need 10 treads to tell you off the parts that i have put on the front ends off these trucks. and they still handle like a unicycle.

But as long as those old masculine clunkin cummins keep rattleing i`ll try to keep a front end on the truck ha ha ha ha ha

2002 Dodge 24 valve ho (miles on my truck)

well i have to say that my 02 truck just rolled 288950 miles:):

I have done the following repairs myself

A) Replaced both from wheel bearings#@$%

B) Replaced (1) track Bar

C) Replaced (4) Brake Calipers

D) Replaced Injection Pump (1)

when i replaced the injection pump i purchased a Fass Fuel System

(best thing i ever did):

E) Upper and Lower Ball joints#@$%

i dont think that is too bad for having 288950 miles on the truck:)

we just got back from Colorado with the truck (Ran Great):)

but now i have a bad noise comming from the front:mad:

i have done the following modifications to the truck

Fass Fuel System :)

RV Injectors

Five Inch Exhaust from Turbo Back

Super Chip (not impressed):mad::mad::mad:#@$%

Custom two stage Air Intake

ARP Head Studs

Port/Polish Head

Boost Fooler

Pratshaft 64 Turbo

I want to start pulling the truck and plan on replacing the Clutch and purchase an EDGE Comp Box

Building a set of tractin bars

install a better injection pump

building a set of drive shaft hoops

so if anyone has information let me know

thank you

Mark,

01 3500 work truck-285,000 miles. 1 lift pump,2 apps,1 clutch at 256,000,rear end, normal maint. items. seems odd all the problems others have with way less miles.

2001 3500 4x4 6spd HO bought the truck used with 101,000. Brakes had just been done, nothing else was mentioned IE; original clutch, VP44, lift pump. Replaced APPS around 120,000, front rotors/ pads around 200,000, currently needs another APPS but avoiding changing it because it works most of the time. Discovered bad lift pump this morning after fuel filter change 210,000. A/C fan switch only has high, and low no middle. Topped off A/C around 205,000. Other than the APPS I am really happy with the truck. I would have thought that the APPS would have been taken care of/redesigned as a saefty issue.

Check with Genos about an aftermarket APPS that is better then stock

Thanks Mike, I will check into that. I think what burns me the most is that you have to buy the entire bellcrank assembly, instead of just the sensor. I was starting to wonder if a different generation part woild work better, and could it be adapted. , but that subject is for another thread... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...

2002

2002 with 194,000 miles. Injector pump at 92,000 miles, Goerand transmission at 108,000 miles and APPS at 192,000 miles. Replaced lift pump with FASS system before it could fail. DWest

knocking on 142000 miles. replaced lift pump with fass system at around 130000. water pump, t-stat, and altenator last month. other than that no problems.

My '99 3500 has 261,083 miles on it. My '96 has 221,345 miles on it. I drive the '99 daily, my son is now driving the '96 2500 daily.

I hope to drive the '99 until it drops out or I do!

Big John

update

313,000 miles on my '01. Still original water pump, haven't had any issues with TPS, but may have vacumn pump starting to leak. Injection pump replaced, South Bend clutch installed, rear axle seals. 17. 85 mpg for every mile driven.
