Competition how to make a 4500 survive?

I dont think you could build a stout enough 4500 to handle the torque of the mighty cummins. On trans #2, they sure are great trans... ..... :{

Where is the best place to get the 1 3/8 input shaft? I was going to put the 6 sp in my truck but have decided to stay with the 5 just upgrade it.

if you order an input shaft from haisleys you will be doing yourself a favor if you let them know that your trans has or has not been torn down or rebuilt.

I just put a DD clutch in and now I get a loud gear clash or some kind of sound in fourth gear when its lugged down it does it a little in fifth and third but not as bad as 4th it also does it when exclerating form 3rd to 4th. Any thoughts Thanks

I have the same sound. It is the unsprung hub of the duel disk. Nothing to worry about. Just lost my 3rd trans. Wipped out the 3rd gear on the mianshaft and the countershaft.
