Just squeeze the two tabs on opposite sides of the fitting together with your fingers and pull, no tools necessary. To replace just push them on. It helps if you can see what you're doing, that's why I perfer to lift the bed rather than dropping the tank. The electrical connector is often the hardest part to disconnect. Use a large set of Channel-Locs, oil filter pliers or even an oil filter wrench to remove the mason jar ring.

Bill ... Just wondering how you tilt or lift the bed. I've read that leaving the two rearward bolts in and loose to tilt the bed is one method. Just wondering if you have found a better way. Thanks

I've always loosened the passenger side bolts, removed the driver's and tilted it that way. Seems like there would be less weight to lift and it's easier to center your jack from the side. Some people use a come-a-long over a rafter with a chain or rope connected between the tie downs. Others have just lifted the bed up and carried it away, the bed is surprisingly light, 4 people will have little trouble with it. Two people could even lift the end or side while a third places a board in there to hold it up, you only need to lift it 16"-18".
