He will set it to whatever you want. For me, I had him set it at 40 all around. He's on the Autel map in SoCal, just click on it and he will pop up. His phone number is posted there. His name is Nando.

Very cool, I'm a long way from Southern California, but I would love to set it to a low PSI like 40 or even 35 so the system just becomes informational, and I can run appropriate pressures for my loads.

Called my selling Stealership here in Ft Worth (Moritz) and they said it was in person only and their was a 50.00 Charge for the numbers.. They just lost a future sale and all of my service business lol...

I'm not surprised by having to be in person, but $50 is ridiculous. I know it's more convenient but you don't want them giving out the PIN over the phone. Proving ownership in person is an important security measure. I've heard others paying $20 but $50 takes the cake. I hope you're in an area where you can choose another dealer and you can tell that one to pound sand.

3500s don't have a warning for minimum. This would only apply to 1500 and 2500s. I get asked this all the time for my 2016 3500 when intake mine in for rotations. I that this confirmed by another thread and my dealer in Denver.

Please clarify one point for me, when you say he set it at 40 did he set the MAXIMUM air pressure threshold or the MINIMUM? I was looking at the instructions for the AEV tool and it specifically says to set the MAX and that the warnings will light up at 80% of that set value.

" Use this module to program in the maximum cold inflated pressure. The TPMS light will come on at ~80% under the recommended pressure."

LINK to AEV instructions

It sounds like there is not a TPMS warning for tires that are OVER-inflated?

That's somewhat confusing terminology. The OEM settings are 60(Hemi) or 65(Cummins) front and 80 rear for both. On other forums some have mentioned that they got a warning ~90psi but that warning was a brief blinking yellow light and a beep, if I recall correctly. Not the same warnings you get with low pressure. IMO, there isn't a MAXIMUM setting and the MINIMUM setting that trips the warnings is 80% (20% less) of the psi value that you choose.

Example: you set the psi thresholds to 45 front and 40 rear. The warnings will come on at 36 front (45 x 0.8 = 36) and 32 rear (40 - 20% = 32)

Just a reminder regarding the AEV tool .... you'll still have to find a willing dealer to update the RFH module AND pay whatever fee they want to charge to do so. My dealer wanted a flat $125 programming fee. For that price I can use the Autel to change all the settings and only rely on the dealer for the PIN.

One of the advantages to a 3500.

Parts counterman here in Surprise says only the Technician can get the Code..
I don't suppose you asked why? So befriend a technician, find out what beer he likes and work out a deal. Seriously, you have other dealers near you? Tell Dealer A that they've lost a customer for life (not that they'll care) and move on to Dealer B. I wish I had a go-to dealer that would help everyone but the PIN is not something they'll do over the phone.

Sure I did. He gave me the second code but repeated that only a Tech could access the one that I really wanted.

Sorry, this is yet another example of an ignorant dealer worker. I wish I had a way to help. Hopefully there's another dealer that's not too far away.

*** urgent ***

IF you ever think you might want to do this, GO GET YOUR PIN CODES NOW!!! More and more guys are being refused 1 or both PIN's by dealers. Until recently, no one local to me has been refused but that just changed. I've had several others that have told me that they've been refused too so it seems like they're cracking down.

This is pretty funny. Happened to me. Sent an email to an addy I got from work (we get discounts from all of the auto companies) telling them that this will be my last Ram. No reply as of today. Going to go Ford next time.
