And if the RFH is not updated, what are people left with after using an AEV ProCal?

The amber TPMS light still illuminated?
ALL of the warnings including the amber light. The only difference will be the EVIC shows the lower pressure values. The RFH holds the warnings amongst other settings. I recently got a call from a guy in Texas because a tire shop had a Autel MaxiTPMS and changed his thresholds only. It did the same thing as the ProCal and they didn't know any different so he had all the warnings.

The EVIC would show the lower pressure values, but still be flashing, warning somehow?

Regardless, seems that the Autel TPMS reset (with RFH) is so much better than the AEV ProCal.

That's correct. The RFH holds the warnings until it is updated/reset so only updating the thresholds does nothing to fix the issue unless the RFH is reset. If someone reset the RFH before updating the thresholds, the warnings would still exist also. When you reset the RFH it grabs the threshold values and then stores them so it must be done before updating the thresholds.

I agree that the Autel is a superior device for this process but I also understand the allure of the ProCal. As long as a person can find a dealer willing to reset the RFH then the ProCal is beneficial for the TPMS adjustment and offers other popular setting changes too.

I update my speedometer for larger tires, which was the main reason. The next was the fog lights with the brights option as I live in the country and it is very dark and lots of critters roamin around. I hit a hog with my 2005 ram cause of inadequate lights, caused a big dent in my truck

Yep, those are good reasons to have a ProCal :)

I only have 35s instead of the OE 33s, know/remember the speedo error, and have it corrected on an Edge CTS2 as well.

Nice that we have options.

Ok it is done now, my tpms is set for 50 psi and no more alarm light. The Dealership only charged 57 and and was in and out in less than an hour. They are a nice bunch of people to deal with.

Nice to here that there's still a dealer out there that's knowledgeable, helpful and charging a fair price. I'd say you found a quadricorn.

If anyone live nears Springfield, MO & wants their TPMS adjusted, I'll be there Friday night (10/26) and most of the day Saturday (10/27). Shoot me a PM if interested or post here if you can't PM.

how can i get in contact with the guy in WV he is the closest to me to see if he can calibrate my tpms
Most of the guys on the map are members of Cumminsforum. Sorry I should have stated that in the post. I sent him a PM so hopefully he replies. You're welcome to do the same if you're a member there too.

Been wondering about this too! I'm following this thread as I want to set my rear lower for when I am not towing. You guys are awesome!

Is there anything different with 2018/2019 Rams? I have a Matco Maximus 3 and it shows to only support 1996-2017. I was able to get into the BCM by saying the truck is a 17, but there is no option to adjust TPMS thresholds.

Yes they require a security bypass cable BUT I don't think that the Matco devices can change the settings anymore. Fairly certain that's why you're not seeing them in the BCM. If you did, you wouldn't be able to save the settings without the cable. I include the bypass cable as part of my rental.
