We are making plans for this summers vacation. Penny has always wanted to see NYC, what's the safest way?
Take the trains into the city and use the subway? or would that be like hanging a sign around our necks that reads " Kick My AXX Please"
I drove in the City ONE TIME back in the Mid 70's I swore that if I ever got out in one piece that I wouldn't ever do that again. Taxi Cabs seem a bit iffy, Habibe the Cab driver might not like the looks of me that day.
BIG
Ms. Penny;
I began dropping hints in post 19. I think if you do it wisely and stick to the commuter routes, and the right locations, you won't have a problem. If you look at when and where these things happen, it will be self explanatory.
There are things to see and do in Manhattan that I'd hate to see you miss but I can understand the reservation!
If you have time while in the Allentown(AHH-len-TAHN)area, the Mack Truck museum is by Queen City Airport. I don't know if they give tours at the Macungie plant.
They do give tours at the "Heritage center" guided by a Mack retiree. I was there recently, and might be going back for training.
Yes, last time I was visiting family I tried to get to the Heritage Center with my BIL and nephew, but the timing just didn't work out. I'd also love to go through Macungie, but don't know if they do tours. My BIL knows several people who work at Macungie, so I might be able to get hooked up.
