I finally got my Stage 1 injectors installed this afternoon. I could'nt wait to try it out. So I blasted off down the road. While I could tell some differance, I really was a little disappointed in the performance. I went about 8 miles from my dealership and pulled under a service station awning. (it is cold, wet and nasty here) I took my EZ from the back seat and plugged it in. Turned around and headed back. BOY, HOWDY! That little EZ Box makes those injectors come alive!!!! I am doing one of my Az. turnarounds starting Sunday. I'll give a towing report when I get back. Thanx Y'all!

Yep, to get the max output you need a box. The injectors help it run more efficiently; but to make more top end power you need the box to deliver more fuel.

Boy, does it smoke! If you come up from behind the turbo, it kills everything on the side of the road for about a hundred feet. Pulled the cover off the EZ and set it to the middle position. Still smokes about the same. Sunday AM before I leave for Az. I'll set it in the 1st position. My Dad is 84 today and I have been promising he and mom a trip to Az. when we go. Sooo, don't expect us to even come close to that last 36 hour turn around. Picking up another 95 Fleetwood Savanna 30' and I'll buy some little something for dad to pull back. He insists that he still can pull an RV... ... ... .....

Barry, did your dealer install the injectors?

I was at my dealer today and asked about installing different injectors or a TC and all they would say is ANY mods made that is not dodge or cummins will void my warranty...

I'm thinking of looking for a different dealer to serve my needs.

Barry . . on the other thread you mentioned you were having problems getting them installed, and you didn't have the tools to do the install yourself.

Did you have them installed . . or did you install them yourself? If you installed yourself . . then post your rooky experiences!!!

If you paid . . how much does a job like that cost at a diesel shop?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Barry,

The reason the DDI's didn't perform before you hooked up the EZ is because you didn't have a boost module. The EZ has a boost module in it. Before the EZ was hooked up your ecm would start defueling at 20# of boost. The boost module now lets you exceed that 20# so the DDI's can perform.

Hope this give you a clearer picture of why the DDI's didn't perform. I learned this the hard way also with my BDIII's.

Thanx Big Bob for that explanation! The cost for the install was $125 and no I would never tackle a job like that myself. I don't even like to taxi an aircraft that I have worked on.
