This stuff is a major PITFA man! I mean, I'm all for clean air but lets do it right. All diesel pumps should have it with the auto shutoff feature like the big rig stops. Using the cardboard container to fill is a joke. No mater what I do it leaks all over.

Sorry. I've never had a problem, and I get significantly better fuel mileage than a buddy with a 2012 non DEF truck gets. In 25K miles, I've only filled up maybe 5 or 6 times total. Hardly big deal and rarely any trouble at all to me...

It is way better than the 2012 setup. After all, we have to use our Rams as urban air scrubbers to satisfy the ultra greenies who got congress to pass legislation forcing emissions down to almost impossible levels. My 2013 gives all zeros, and opacity lower than ambient air, so it cleans up Henderson air when I drive. I refill my blue def plastic 2.5 gallon jugs at truck stops, and have not had trouble with them.

Had to fill up twice on my trip from AZ to Colo pulling my 18k 5er. Truck stops work great but the cheap 2.5 gal cardboard leaks form where the spicket attaches. Maybe I'm doing something wrong when I attach it.

That would be my guess. I've used both the Peak DEF but mostly the Wal-Mart Super-Tech. Never had a problem.....in fact, I've had more spilling issues at pumps (usually the first gush of fluid splashes back) than with containers.

I have 39K on my 2015, have only used the Peak Blue 2.5 boxes. All but one from WM. Some drip on the ground, but not on the truck. No big deal. WM shopping cart is a recycle station for the box.

I typically use Peak, or the pumps when traveling. I may get a few drips on the ground but I make sure to hold it up and away from truck side when using the box.

I'd rather have to deal with a somewhat messy DEF fill-up than a clogged DPF or malfunctioning EGR. The SCR requires more maintenance, yes, but it has also improved the overall reliability and efficiency of these trucks.

I had the same leak issue. The next time I needed to refill, I purchased a small plastic fuel can, transferred the DEF from the box to the can and filled my tank from the can. It was easier to handle and no leaks.

I put the DEF nozzle all the way in, it sprayed out some from the air being squeezed and accelerated from the tight fit. I would recommend not putting it all the way in...leave a little gap where the tapered part is on some of the DEF nozzles.

Second, with the box I overfilled trying to listen and spilled some when it reached full...I could not hear the level coming up. Luckily water cleans it up easily.

I wait until I get the DEF low warning, fill with 2 jugs and go on. Never had an overfill situation, very few times have I ever had a drip, and never any spillage.

Tried this once both jugs wouldn't fit. small mess but I'd rather wash off some DEF than change contaminated with fuel Lube like my 2012 would give me every 1800 miles.
