Ron did you accidentally overmedicate this am???

Ron,

I'm down hard, suffering from the ROCKING PNEUMONIA AND THE BOOGIE WOOGIE FLU!

Just got back from short RV trip to Fort Worth and back. Blew out RV front right tire 25 miles south of Fort Worth. Minimal damage, brake lines good, took out Level Up pad, but lines cylinder is fine. They sell Lippert pads on Amazon.

Oh wait, should I have started another thread? Yep Guilty.

Cheers, Ron

Let me add I was someones BEST BUDDY at that time also.

It's "AMSOIL" when it's a product a person wants to use then it's "snake oil" when that person does not use it. OK

What makes you think I'm not your BEST BUDDY still. Maybe because I disagree with you :D Come on grow a little skin you are too sensitive.

Ron, you are seeing this from your side, I don't think you realize how hard you push your agenda, Amsoil is probably the greatest thing since canned beer, but there are other oils, other hitches , other trucks ,the list goes on.

Well, its time to switch to tires I can see. This thread has covered hitches ,pin boxes , oil , and whatever . :)

I suggest if its a heavier fifth wheel you blew the tire on, its time for Sailun S637's . This should rev up the Goodyear fan club :D

OH NO, NOT A TIRE WAR! I think i'm good for another year... these GYs are 4 years old that came on the unit and have around 30K miles. They've held up well and are not showing sigs of wear or aging. I'm actually a Michelin guy. But, I might start looking at 17.5 tires.

Cheers, Ron

I do know the Goodyear G614's are notorious for blowouts, if that is what you are running. One will say they have improved , but they still continue to blowout. I frequent the Montana Owners forum ,and the reports are quite often on the G614's.

IMO the Sailun ST235/85/16 at a 4400 lb rating will cover a pretty heavy fifth wheel . Not sure what your GVWR is on your trailer , but I have been happy with mine.

I had one tread separation on my GY "H" tires dated 2015 they replaced all 4. They had a few during that time but since they are fine. Look at your tires if they have the center three ribs starting to look higher than the outer ribs you have tread separation.

On the GY "G" trash talk maybe that person could provide a legitimate link to a tire issue that was NOT a road hazard.

I LOVE my US made GY's for all my trailers and my US Made Michelins on my tow vehicle.

Contact your area GY rep!!! Call GY to find out who it is. Take your tire to the area GY OWNED store the rep suggests!!! They will take care of you if it's not road hazard. They will also pay for ALL repairs.

Did the tire have tread separation??? Like below?

17.5 - good idea, will last longer then the trailer itself.
Real tires for the long run, maybe a little harsh but as long as no people are riding in the trailer it can rattle for himself.

No tread loss, looks like sidewall blowout. These are Hs. I'm starting to look at Sailuns... good reviews and not bad price. Looked at Michelins and looks like would be over $500 tire. I still have a while so gives me time to get the best VALUE.

cheers, Ron

Take it to a GY OWNED store! Get a cheap spare and carry on if they don't give you a new tire. Always best to check with GY.

Ron,

I didn't keep the carcass... road service changed it, got a no name at local tire shop, and they kept it. With the tires un good shape, its likely road debris.

But thanks for the suggestion.

Cheers, Ron

You can certainly spend more, but IMO you will not get a better tire then the Sailun .

I am a victim of a road hazard, yes it happens ,yet the Goodyears do continue to blowout from whatever.

I have no reason to report anything about the G614's except what pops up on the Montana forum , and RVNet. Are they road hazards ,they very well could be, unfortunately they don't know, nothing they report about it . I know of one he was running TPMS, no warnings ,no loss of air, boom, you tell me. The G614's have a history, and it seems to be continuing ,as much, I have no idea. I only see the two forums. You insist they have improved, they may have, they certainly have increased in price, of course thats your insurance when they do blow , right ?????
