Psst Holeshot .... Tripple Charged 2JZ-GTE !

One of those days...

go to diesel tech school, build a shop and buy tools so I can keep driving my Dodge. I raised a mechanic, but he moved off to WY.

My truck has been in the local shop since Monday for an oil change and new 5th gear (again), and new pilot bearing. This morning they told me they do not want to do the 5th gear since they never have. I appreciate their honesty and hesitation with something new and at the same time wish they had decided this a couple of days ago.

Now I have to take off a day of work, drive 470 miles round trip and kill a day on foot waiting on the old truck to get running. The nearest dealership (350 miles round trip), where I bought the truck, won't see it in the shop since last time for an oil change a mechanic carried out an old dirty air filter to show me to explain that I needed a new one and I explained to him that not only was that filter not from my truck, but it wasn't even from a CTD! This is also the same dealership that informed me that I would not know how to drive the truck since it was a "mans truck"!!!

Thought I had it figured out by using the new local shop. Oh well, best laid plans... .

Can't complain too much though since I have 204,000 miles so far and am still running the factory VP44.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. The 5th gear fix is not a big deal. you don't even have to go into the trans to do it. Heck, if it were'nt for your pilot bearing you wouldn't even have to remove the trans. Hope it all works out for you.

Single with a CTD... hmmmmm

Good news local shop is gonna try it Oo.

The results will be put to test soon since I will haul a horse to Colorado Springs, CO next week. It sure will be better to have a 5th (gear that is).

:-laf Thats funny

Hey H. H. notice she dropped that thread like a hot potato. Maybe you should do a personel profile & put it in the TDR classifieds. I know we have more CTD lady's on the board.

Knew it wouldn't take long for this thread to get hijacked.

From reading her first post she said she raised a mechanic but he moved to WY . Now from looking at the pic of H. H. ----- I would say that he is probably about as old as her son -------- Hummmm , think that might be why she dropped the tread like a hot potato .

Geez, I've got to get a new monitor. This one must be acting up, because the thread says there is a picture of HH on here but all I see is Bud Bundy sitting on a toy motorcycle! :p :D Oo.

If we are gonna be looking at Bundys, I wanna see Kelly!

Our very own MMcLain would be that Wyo. kid. Mom's gotta be alright if Marshal turned out anything like her. He's about Matt's size, but he's not carrying around a behybeh. :D :p

Yep looks to me like the "biker" is about the age of my son. Men just keep getting younger these days.

TCPDrafting... thanks for the kind comments. You can't choose your relatives, but i do like my boys.

Got an estimate from the shop... chage oil, new air filter, replace 5th gear nut, replace pilot bearing, $450!!! i thought they meant just for the 5th, but they said that is for all. May expand the to do list for them. So long as i get it soon so I can go see son number 2 at the Air Force Academy labor day weekend.

The way that chin is resting on the hand and the slit-eyed glint reminds me of MINI-ME sittin on that little crotch rocket. Just stick out that little pinky (finger) Matt and you'll be a dead ringer.

Has this approach been a successful babe magnet for you in the past?

You guys crack me up. :-laf

I had people PM'ing me - telling me that Karen is old enough to be my Mom. It's all in good fun, folks. She's a good sport for realizing that.

Bud Bundy? That's one I've never heard before. :D

It's hard to say... but I think it was my belching skills that won most of them over. :p

"good sport"

Good sport is not what my sons say when I out-drive, out-shoot or out-ride (horses) their friends and them. They usually say "go away". LOL
