go to diesel tech school, build a shop and buy tools so I can keep driving my Dodge. I raised a mechanic, but he moved off to WY.
My truck has been in the local shop since Monday for an oil change and new 5th gear (again), and new pilot bearing. This morning they told me they do not want to do the 5th gear since they never have. I appreciate their honesty and hesitation with something new and at the same time wish they had decided this a couple of days ago.
Now I have to take off a day of work, drive 470 miles round trip and kill a day on foot waiting on the old truck to get running. The nearest dealership (350 miles round trip), where I bought the truck, won't see it in the shop since last time for an oil change a mechanic carried out an old dirty air filter to show me to explain that I needed a new one and I explained to him that not only was that filter not from my truck, but it wasn't even from a CTD! This is also the same dealership that informed me that I would not know how to drive the truck since it was a "mans truck"!!!
Thought I had it figured out by using the new local shop. Oh well, best laid plans... .
Can't complain too much though since I have 204,000 miles so far and am still running the factory VP44.
