I think I might have a steering box going out

So i go back to the dealer after wife and i figure out by moving the steering wheel back and forth that my new drag ling replacement was s the source is f the cluncking

mechanic says oh yeah i felt that but told me when i picked up the truck first time that i had a loose bolt on steering stabilizer bracket and its cracked. I couldnt find crack and one of four bolts 1/8 turn loose

tThen he proceeds to say new replacement not as good as older y-style. Hmmm

so they are ordering new drag link. I think perhaps it just wasnt torqued enough

Y-style went away a decade ago, your truck never had it.
And be happy, y-style was bad design and the main cause of all these deathwobble problems that plagued these trucks.

While I personally never had any issues with the Y-style steering, it has been gone since mid year 2008 and hasn’t been missed.

Not sure what that mechanic would have been referring to, and that makes me question their competency.
