Fass Fuel Heater?

NEI running a Haisley Street puller DD clutch?

Hi all,

So far ddufm, mbrp dual exhaust. Yes full guages are there too. It has the hy35 I think I need to do the hx35 at the least for new injectors I saw a set of dd3,s in the classified section are these to much ? F1 has a special on injectors maby a set of mach 2,s any advice is appreciated.

Thanks and happy thanksgiving,

Marc

I have DD-1's and it smokes a little with the stock HX. When I get the caTCHER installed, I will most likely go with Mach-2's and maybe a 14cm turbo housing from Piers. I use mine for towing mostly. I think the DD-3's will be a little much with the stock turbo, so maybe the mach-2's would be the ticket! :D

I had the same setup on my 01. I also had the DD HX 40 turbo, and DDII's. It was a great setup, controlable EGT's, and 450 HP. Make sure you install a Pusher Pump. Very important to help keep the VP44 healthy.

Greg

so a set of mach 2's or dd2 jammers. There is a stock hx35 12cm in classifieds should be ok right? And the pusher pump or fass.

Marc

It depends on what you will use the truck for. If you intend to go WOT alot of the time then just get the HX40. It makes gobbs of power and keeps EGT's in check. EGT's are a huge power robbing source.

Yes I have a heavy right foot but I tow my jeep alot out to paragon. Other problem is I am restoring a 70 challenger so money is tight.

Marc

I think you have the right idea... I think you will like the EDM's better. . but its the $$$ issue. . (not that big of a difference now. ) I have DDIII's, and they are great... . but better power. . less smoke from the EDM's. . the fuel is just used better... I still have the stock HX. . and its easily drivable. . and towing. . I just tow with the box off. . or all the way down. . but a setup in housing. . or next size up in charger would help make more of the power useable without it getting too hot. . Your auto may be a little warmer. . especially with the Hy. .

How is your transmission holding up... that could be a good upgrade area too...

Good Luck. .

Bryan

I understand money is tight. Go for the injectors, then when you can afford it, get the 40 turbo. It is worth every penny and will make the truck run like it is supposed to with the bigger injectors. While towing the injectors will send egt's through the roof.

Greg

which injectors the f1 mach 2's are on sale this month and I saw a set of dd3's in classified. either of these are probably too much for the hy35 so i need a turbo anyway correct. Or do I go mach 1. 5's or will these be too much for towing.

Marc

I tow a 6500# TT with DDIIIs, HY, and comp box on 2x2 without much smoke. Lower MI is mostly flat which helps a lot. If I get hard on the go pedal taking off it will smoke but it clears up pretty quick. The main thing is to learn how to roll into the throttle, once you do that you can control the smoke reasonably well.

EDM's would seem to be a better choice.

Fuel delivery and trans upgrade is great advice and should be performed before injectors and turbo!!!

I didn't see that you have done anything with the auto transmission and I would probably look at bombing the transmission next. I did my trans. with only 14,000 miles on the truck because I couldn't stand the characteristics of my stock trans. and I watched my buddy go through 3 tannys on his 97 Dodge. The trans. modifications made a big difference in the drivabilty of the truck and it pulls alot harder instead of the engine buzzing and not going anyplace. Plus piece of mind knowing the trans. is more capable of handling the H. P.

DDIII's are too hot to tow with. For serious towing go for the stage two dd injectors or the EDM 1. 5's. Either one will be fine for now. A transmission upgrade is a must like MVieira says. Thats close to 5 large now.

Marc any mods other than a edge ez or comparable towing box is to hot for hy35 turbo they have a 9 cm housing if you are going to go with injectors and fueling box mod a hybrid hx35/40 was inadequate on my truck. I recommend bd diesels schweitzer turbo it will support 450hp hx40's have a weak impeller shaft so reliability is in doubt hx 35 will be inadequate egt's will be high. The bd power turbo comes with downpipe and is reasonably priced. For a pusher pump BD has also put together a nice package with a carter pusher pump all the wiring, fittings, hose's to install and it turns on by a oil pressure switch to avoid hard starts also included in kit for a reasonable price. check out my site for contact info I advertise on this site
