Hey folks,

Riding home on the interstate the other day I noticed the "brake" light and the ABS light both staying on. Tested brakes and everything is fine. The lights are still on all the time.

Any ideas? RWAL sensor maybe?

Thanks,

Jim

Thanks CC. That's what I was hoping. Where did you source the part? My local Advance Auto has it for $56. 00, which sounds a little high.

that is probably price for sensor with lead wire. tell them you just want the sensor. Also mine wanted to break apart when I removed it so be carefull pulling it out. was real easy just unhook lead and remove one bolt. hope this helps.

Check and make sure your brake lights are working, first. It will throw those dash lights if the brake fuse is blown... . Check all the lights, the upper cab light will still work, but not the rear lights.....

On the not so common but still possible list of things to check... .

I recall that my '94 had a switch on the LH fender well with a vacuum line going to it. I know that would trip the dash brake warning light if it failed or developed a vacuum leak. I cannot remember if the ABS light came on as well or not. It has been a while. If yours has the vacuum booster I would give that a look if the sensor does not fix the issue.

Mike.

That could be it, too. They used that sensor until mid '96 when they went to hydra-boost brake systems.....
