What size is the low idle adjustment screw on a '97 12V? I've tried about everything in my wrenches that will fit in the space, but can't seem to find one that fits. Don't even know if it's metric or SAE. Thanks!

Its a 10 mm top and bottom I usually use a wrench on the top and a socket on the bottom if you have somone or something to hold down the throttle it makes it a little easier to get at.

Exactly what he said! :p :-laf

10MM crows foot on the bottom makes the job alot easier. Been there and fought it with every wrench I owned. Now the right tool and oh yeah. .

Adjusting the idle is really easy. Just one box end 10mm wrench is all you need. Find the lock nut and loosen it. Hold the linkage where the pull cable is on the side of the pump. Pull it with your hand to ease the pressure on the adjustment screw. Turn the screw with your fingers until the idle is like you want it. Tighten the lock nut. It only takes a few minutes. It's harder on a 4X4 because you have to stand on something.

Thanks guys! Got it, no problem, after I realized that my cheapy 10mm was actually a cheapy 9mm with a really bad stamp on it! Found my good one, idles great. Had to bump the idle up after 3K install.
