Happy 4th 'o July

Police gear for the academy - need advice

After the beating of war drums to send me and many others to Turkey this spring/late winter and not being able to go, I finially get to pack my bags and go some place. I know this is going to drive Robin from TDR nuts, but oh well its life in the military. lol I leave for Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan for at least 4 months. I should have some internet access, so I will be able to post every now and then. I will mostly be doing concrete work there, so I will be staying busy and working my backside off. I fly on the first, so I'll post a few more times, before I leave.

Ben

Oh yeah, thanks for all of your support.

I am here in Bagram Air Base now. After spending way too many hours at Rhine Main Air Base in Germany, a canceled flight and a replacement that broke, we made it. Thank you for the post's of support and it makes me and the other thousands of us happy. The temps here so far haven't been too bad. They have been in the mid to upper 90's with wind in the afternoon. I will keep everyone up to date on how things are going here. Right now things are pretty calm. Most of the action is to the South and East, so we don't see or hear of anything.

Ben

Welcome to the middle east. I have some friends there now, and from what they tell me, its a nicer place to be than Kuwait. Course my guys that just got back from Bagdad say the weather there is better than Kuwait also. (not counting the ocassional hail of bullets)

Have you heard about the 120 day winds yet?

Take care, and I hope you have a short tour.

I'm already a bit nutty so you're not to blame. Just let us know where to send your magazines. The 10th anniversary issue is due out in August. I'll do my best to make sure you get it. Just e-mail me your mailing address now: rpatton@ix.netcom.com.

Stay safe!
