I need rotors and calipars something fierce.

I am planning on EGR rotors, but who makes quality cals?

I really dont want to pay for dealership calipars.

Any help?

Thanks

Chris,

I have a 97' and did a brake job this year, I wanted new but also better brakes while I was doing this. I pretty much new I wanted to go with the EGR pads, lines, shoes, ect. but I went a different route for the rotors and calipers. I found that Raybestos made a extreme duty rotor called the Supper Stop. They were cross drilled and gas sloted, and very beefy. They were also my source for calipers. The rotors listed for $ 195. 00 each and I got them for 110. 00 Each, whic was a good price. The calipers were 70. 00 each. The main reason for not going with EGR rotors and calipers, was they were not any better and cost about 350-400 more. Not including the shipping for getting to cores back to them. They do claim to "Blue print" the capilers, but this is nothing, and you can do it yourself if you feel like it. There is nothing to a caliper, it has a piston, seal, body and a bleeder valve. And there rotors were a toss-up, between them and the Raybestos. Anyway the installed system works very, very, very good. I ordered this truck new and always thought it had good brakes, but now I know what good/great brakes are. I think it was the best safety thing I have done to the truck, and brake dust isn't a problem anymore.

Good luck with your brake job
