Brett, no to put a dig in on ya here, but, why do you respond so quickly when a core charge comes up but never a response when a request for data comes up?

Is there something we should know about this unit?

Positively no core charge. Never has been, never will be. I don't know were that came from. Thanks

Figured that was the case, thanks for clearing that up

I didn't think you would want an abused stock turbo back as core :-laf

RE: Phat Shaft 66

I have tried to respond as soon as possible. Some times I'm looking at all the threads we are on but some times I have to do other things and may not be so quick. But the information that I have given to date has been as complete as I can make it and not just hand our competiition our information. We do appreciate your interest in our products. As far as lucking out and falling into a good turbo, all of our employees that have been working so hard to bring this turbo to market will have some issues with that statement. Thanks

RE: Phat Shaft 66

Sorry we will get that fixed right away. (New web site) Needs some work! If you would rather call us our toll free # is 1-800-955-0476

Brett,

Do you have any more updates on the progress of the PS66/12V combo?? Was the 12V you already had experience with equiped with the super 66 or just the regular 66??

RE: Phat Shaft 66

Just talked to one of our good dealers and friends. Advanced Diesel Technology. He filled me in on a truck that had installed a Phat Shaft Super 66. Sounds like he had great success not only with more hp. than most everyone there, but also out pulled everyone except a 12 valve with a very large set of twins and alot of fuel inhancments etc. Seems everyone was very interested in seeing his TURBO that supported so much power. To answer the question about our plans to help some issues with comp surge on 12 valve auto trans. applications. The answer is that Borg Warner has been given all the data and they are putting that data in their computer base to see if there needs to be a recalculation for trim or size etc. We will let you know when this information is available. Thanks!

i will be testing mine tonight on my 12v motor that Doug C. at ADT built. should be pretty wild with this combo. will post tomorrow.

heh heh hmmm this truck sounds familiar.

is this all of the story??

I will be finding out this weekend with a 04. 5 600, and since there will be a dyno day here locally for me on the 30th we will just see what this charger will put down.

Well for starters my B1-04 had a 62mm compressor wheel. This one has a 66mm compressor wheel.

Also, the turbine wheel on my "66" is considerably larger than the one on my B104.

So this turbo should be a better turbo??

faster spooling??

I am looking to add a B1-2 and a set of Don m's 4's

or should i be changing my mind on my choice of turbo??

A B1-2 will spool faster. But these are 2 different animals.

A B1-2 will make 500hp+/-.

I believe II makes versions with tighter housings and smaller wheels if you want a faster spooling unit.

This II SPS66 Turbo is good into the 600 area from what I can tell.

By the way I have a 6 speed. I have absolutely no drivability issues with the addition with this larger turbo.

The engine actually seems to rev more "freely" and breathes a hell of a lot better with this turbo.

I'll hopefully be testing the Super 66 with some Mach6s shortly. Then again I've been waiting on a turbo for a couple months now so who knows who is actually going to come through with one first. Good luck with TAD. The jury is still out on II.

RE: Tons of fuel

Not a problem with less fuel. But it will let you grow in hp in the future. If you have no plans to go to 550-600hp or above then the 62mm turbo would be a perfect fit.

Well the fist test did not go exactly like I wanted but here are the results.

The truck is a 97 auto ( 91% DTT with valve body mods as well ) PDR 370's and a PDR pump that flows about 330 cc's. With the 40 it ran 1500 degrees at 43 lbs.

Now for the Phat shaft 66 super, it seems to spool pretty good but not as fast as the PDR 40 which I expected. Once it starts to spool it does so very well. It runs right at 50lbs of boost at 1425 degrees. Now for the not so good news it has some pretty mean compressor surge at 18 to 23 lbs of boost and and at high boost if you move the throttle around it will surge as well.

I was warned in advance that they didn't have much data with this turbo on a 12 valve so these results hopefully will give them something to work with. So far I am very happy with the customer support and on time delivery of parts from Industrial injection, when they say something will be shipped on a certain date it was shipped and that is all you can ask for IMO.

I hope the here back from Shane today with the next version we will be trying.

400 hp range 12v interest ... :)

Anything happening on your side Blair?
