It is hard to document something like this.

I am making a modded S300G. (L10 cummins, and some CAT applications use it)

I guess you can look at thier map, but once you machine the housing to accept a 64-66mm wheel and put on a huge dual port w/g housing will the map still be correct?? Maybe maybe not...

I guess the hype would have to be user results, and dyno testing.

Justin

Hard to document? Only if you don't really know what you are doing.

Am I to assume that you are running a 64 trim wheel, with a 66mm inducer?

No, those are the wheels you can run (64, 65, & 66)

You machine the comp housing in the same manner as a hybrid HX40/35.

Can you please expand on "Knowing how to document a turbo that uses numerous parts from other applications?"

You have to be kidding!!!

Documentation for a turbo would be at minimum: Turbine, and Compressor size/trims, Max Mass flow rate for the comp wheel, Peak P/R for the comp wheel at the previously stated mass flow rate, Turbine Housing size (in A/R or cm^3)...

Those should give the buying public the ability to decide whether or not the turbo would suit their specific application.

even more importantly would be a full compressor map. As you should already know, the biggest issue when attempting to spool a turbo with a large compressor at a low rpm is surge. The closer to surge you run, the easier it is to bark the turbo... . not an issue when running empty, but when towing... . especially on a 12 valve, surging under power causes major issues with bucking from inconsistent fuel delivery from the P7100 caused by rapid boost pressure transients (ones you cam not see on the gague).

Thanks DF,

I was wondering when someone was gonna ask for the necessary info in order to make an informed decision.

Oh, I have got some help when it comes to selecting my turbos. He helps me understand the details of all the technical stuff.

Hey Dave,

I don't have any sound on my work PC but from what I gather- if I can get a hold of that fella on the ball field and have him wave his hands over my CTD I will get the Holy Grail Turbo!! Oo. :-laf

Bhaner,

you know that a Raiders fan cannot lead you astray! He would also be a good canidate you the "decoration" aspect of the Dodge CTD Ram.

Maybe get Lil' Sis on a consult? I know it would be good to get them in the mornin' when I am up making breakfast anyway.

Yea What a shame!! Those pesky twins. .

I saw & spoke with a couple guys at the diesel drags in SLC UT. Nice guys. The truck had their turbo on a 3 genner W/ a TST and I was quite impressed with the way it came to life.

A stock PSD won the brackets with a real consistant 19. 2 run after run. I think there should be a different class for un - modifides. Kind of reminded me of the time a mini bike won last time I raced.

Just for the record, we do have the comp. maps! We have done extensive testing on 2nd gen. and 3rd gen. trucks. We do and would share information with people not interested in copying or giving information to their turbo buddies or posting it on diesel forums.

Not that I would do any such thing but I gotta ask. .

If the maps are favorable, wouldn't that help sell you products?

I am still trying to learn how to read those maps and its difficult to learn when there is so little out there to compare.

BTW, nice hp figure in your sig!
