Injection pump problem

posting for a friend . the truck is a 1990 d250 he removed the injection pump to fix a leak on it . he said he put an oring on the back of the pump . put the truck all back together and no start . i have not looked at the truck but said the keyway lined back up with the gear but it acts like it is out of time . any and all help greatly appreciated .

We need some help, are the injectors getting fuel? Will it start just not run?

Do you have a way to check fuel pressure?

He means low side, not high side. Should be 3-7psi at idle (higher is better).



Do you get any white or blue smoke whil ecranking? Is the blue wire to the solenoid hooked up? Check the simple stuff first. If it was running before, it should run now. It could be a hair off on the keyway. It will bolt up, but will make some gear noise when cranking.
