Brakes——-2006 mega cab 5.9

Well finally got my injectors installed today, truck runs good, only problem I had is they sent me 2 number 4 crossover tubes and no number 5, but sent injectors direct some pics and they have a number 5 in the mail, They were pretty nice about it, returned my phone call promptly, and apologized, I had to reuse the old one as I'm headed to Louisiana in the morning for the floods , I'll change it when I get back, sounds like great people and polite, .

What's with the ccv filter, the one that fits mine is 135.00, then they told me that Dodge or Cummins was not going to put replacement filters in them anymore, said you'd have to buy whole valve cover for 700.00, I was replacing while I had valve cover off, anyway sounds pretty dumb to me

Did the 5.9 ever have a ccv filter?
I thought that came with the 6.7

My 2005 5.9 CTD has a small CCV filter box located below the vanity valve cover and screwed to the actual aluminum valve cover. It also has a large O-ring inlet at its base allowing blowby to enter and then an outlet hose to drain. It is nothing more then a small baffle box with a small piece of foam in it to help separate the vapor from the liquid. IIRC gases go back behind the turbo and liquid drains back to crankcase.

It is NOTHING like the integrated CCV that the 6.7 CTD utilize (a fact that I am glad for) but it IS there!!!

The 2nd Gen 12-valves have a similar media in the Tappet Cover. It’s not available separately from Cummins, either.

Crank Case Ventilation Filter, I was just on Geno's and don't see one for the 06-07.5 5.9L. They have them for all other models, maybe give them a call?

I believe the 06-07 was integrated into the valve cover and not a separate box.

03-05 have a CCV filter that is easily replaceable. Biggest issue with it is the seals age and leak.

06-07 was integrated into the VC,I think you have to buy a VC cover to get a new one or add a catch can.

6.7's have a replaceable filter that is rather spendy and it routes oil laden air back into the turbo intake. When one is tired of the mess it create sin the intake tract it is gutted and an external catch can added. The combination of EGR and oil laden air make a mess in the intake.

hey cerb,,,i have an 06,,,,took the valve cover apart to see vwhat was in that filter housing,,,just baffle,, no foam in mine,,manual sez not servicable,,,they even have those security screws in mine,,,,,,(just in case u give a s,,,

Yeah, isn't even a real filter in the 06-07 5.9's. Some have even tried putting steel wool in there to slow down the oil blow by.

I'm in Lake Charles , Louisiana, and wife said #5 fuel line showed up yesterday, now gotta return injectors. and #4 back to them, by the way truck runs great, I can tell the difference
