I am shopping around for some new Homeowners and auto insurance. I am purchasing a house in Hillsboro, OR and am trying to find a reputable, decent priced insurance company. Your opinions and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to decide between State Farm and Country, But am open to other suggestions. Country is the cheapest I have found.

Thanks,

Joe

I've had State Farm for the last 20 years. I have ALWAYS been very satisfied with them. When I've moved (lived in Oklahoma, California, and Michigan) I've gotten quotes from a bunch of carriers and SF wasn't the cheapest but they were reasonable. I've had quite a few claims with them and they've always paid no problems at all. It would take quite a lot for me to drop them.

I've never had one complaint about StateFarm... and they have paid me WAYYYYYY more than I've paid them. They still treat me like gold.

Yet another vote for SF. I've had policies with them in both MI and IL over the last 16 years. I've got no issues with their coverage at all. And their customer service is top notch.

As a matter of fact, I'm in the market for yet another policy, so I stopped in to the office last week. The agent recognized me by name, in spite of the fact that I've only set foot in there maybe 6 times in 10 years, and only talked to him twice.

I have been with Farmers for as long as I can remember. They lead me to believe they will treat me well if i ever have a claim. They have never misplaced the money I faithfully send them.

Well I went with State Farm for my homeowners insurance. Because of a couple of Tickets I have I need to leave my auto with Progressive for the time being. In a year I can switch everything over. Thanks for the info. The State Farm agent I met with was very friendly and took care of what we needed to do in a very timely manner.

I sure did like State Farm. They were even an New Jersey Company. Then they decided I was not profitable enough and left, for car insurance. This triggered a bit of a fight with the state and they pulled their offices out of NJ too. Now I'm with NJ Manufacturers. Thye have been good. When I get over being mad at State Farm, or if I moved. I's go back

I've had state farm for about 25 years. They have treated us well and we get mucho discounts for multi-line, multi-car, good driver, etc. They took care of us well when my daughter totaled my wife's 1 year old Saturn. I don't even price shop anymore.

I have Farmers ins no problems so far15+ years and counting. I used to have state farm no problems except they tried to put foreign sheet metel on a american auto I once had much thinner metal and no warrienty by the auto repair shop I fought them and I won Renewal came and my rates went up. oh well that was the past this is now. :)

As others have said, State Farm, always had good agents (even some just starting out in the business) and had them in many states as I moved around.

All my insurance except life is with them.

Have run into several 'crabby' claims people with them, but the agent has always gone to bat for me, and everything worked out as it should!!!

and now with auto claims, you typically just deal with a shop and they have a large list of those to choose from!!!

REALLY LOVE THE IOWA INSURANCE RATES versus Minnesota rates !!!!!!!
