The elusive Delvac 1 to becomre more widely available!!

Got a notice today about my insurance for my truck and and my "hail" car. It's only going $190 per year! So now I'm going to do some shoping to see what I can get for the same coverage. So, what insurance company do you have?

Michael

Actually I can by my Dad being in the Navy... do have them with my home owner insurance. Will check it out tomorrow...

I did the Progressive and Geico websites and got some insane quotes... .

I ended up going to a local agent that hooked me up with AIG for a lot less bread...

Matt

My wife just got us a quote through the Costco program. It is $600 less a year than the State Farm policy we have now. (4 vehicles. ) I did online quotes from 21st Century and Geico, both were $800 more per year.

Of course, your results may vary.

Man! I pay about $1400 a yr. with no tickets or wrecks  but 2K would kill me. I had a little fender bender last summer, I don't think that it really happened but that is a different story, and BOOM $400 extra.   I feel for ya.

I've had Nationwide all my life and everytime I try one of those Geico or Progressive quote offers, they are way higher. I just joined Farm Bureau and that lowered my Nationwide about 10%.

Try Northwest GF Mutual

For my 04 it runs me $495 every 6 mo. However, I have a multiple vehicle discount. And I have my home there also. You may need to switch everything you insure to a new co. to get rates down. Also, check with your co. There are some things you can do to lower your rates. Like taking driver safety courses. There are a few other simple things that can be done to reduce rates.

I have mine on my farm policy for 267 a year, full coverage for my 97' 3500. But then my overall policy is 2800 a year.

Why are insurance rates going up? One word: attorneys. The ambulance chasers that advertiseare filing thousands of frivolous lawsuits, and since it's cheaper to settle (but STILL costs) money, the insurance companies end up giving in to the extortion. What other choice can they make?

Of course, the company has to remain solvent, so guess what happens to premiums? SKYROCKET.

Sorry to rant, but the high costs of insurance (auto, home, and ESPECIALLY medical-related) are directly linked to dumb juries and slimy lawyers.

As for USAA, they'e about the best all-around company you can hope to deal with. Their rates are rarely the cheapest, but you will never find a better level of service for a given amount of cost. They are truly a wonderful value-- max bang for the buck.

What company is that? Does the 2800 include your farm insurance too? Might not be a bad deal.

The company is Farm Family. I think it is a good deal realitive to the industry. Covers the farm, equipment, both my horses and others, etc. Won't cover non farm vehicle's such as my wife's Explorer. Like I said, it does cover the Ram even though it is used for anything and everything.

I have great rates through Citizen's insurance. They're also very good about claims, although that's probably got a lot to do with the agent.

As one stated, it is all the people thinking "Sue" and such. You also have the people that will make a claim even for a tiny little scratch in the car.

Oh well, I've found a couple cheaper ones, AllState is about $500 cheaper for auto & home, so might be worth while of doing it.

However, as I always wonder (even with the current insurance), what kind of experiance will I get by making a claim?

I made this switch... when I bought my first house... put my house and autos "In Good Hands". To make a long story short, don't do it. I have my autos back with 21st Century now. My homeowners is with Allstate but I am currently shopping for a new company. Allstate likes to come in low to "getcha" and then later raise their rates saying "well EVERYONE is raising them". Then when I made a homeowners claim (underinsured motorist hit my retaining wall), they had the claim open for a year with no resolution and I finally had to cancel the claim and take the lower $$ from the driver's liability insurance.

Me two until this year. Progressive saved me $600. 00 per year. No tickets or anything on my record. Worth the call.
