To make a long story short... . I let the truck warm up this morning for about 6 or so minutes on high idle, drove to the end of the driveway (350 feet) was unloading the garbage cans from the bed and the truck went into the high idle sequence again. Is this normal? Do i have a bad intake air sensor? Anyone have any thoughts?

If you did not go past I believe the parameters are 10 or 15 mph it will still be enabled if the other parameters are still holding below 32 degrees and water temp below 140 degrees. park or neutral have to be detected also.

Its not a smarty issue. it just enabled a function that is already in the engine ECM. if it had not been enabled already.

Couple of times within the last week or so of weather at the freezing point, my truck has increased idle speed up to 1000 RPM, when it is usually around 750 or so. None of the 3-cylinder stuff, and the idle dropped to normal in a block or so of driving - speed was probably in the 20 MPH or so range.

Don't know if that's normal for the Smarty and temperature range or if something else is going on - never did it before...

The best thing about it enabling what is suppose to be there already is once its on it stays on. I lent my smarty to a friend and after putting it back into my truck he still has high idle and never had it before :D love this thing

I read that the Smarty is not supposed to be detectable by the dealer when returned to stock, but this high idle feature obviously shows the computer was changed.

My truck is not under warranty so it doesn't matter to me. I think the high idle sounds like a great feature.

The dealer can turn it on or off. It is not a feature to Smarty it is already in the engine ecm smarty just turns it on,some where turned on from factory some were not.

The only problem with the dealer turning it on is you pay them money, and they say they enabled it but they frigged up so you get them to try it again.

But with smarty  it works

I made them do it before I even took delivery of it. Paper work was already done. no charge to me. I have a good relationship with the local dealer. Lucky me. :)

The high idel feature is awesome. I can fire the truck up when its cold and not worry about oil pressure and that good stuff. Also it warms up quicker. I have never heard the 3 cylinder yet but i have heard from people it is loud.
