Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Is this the time?

I am having a OEM short block installed on my 01 2WD 2500 auto. 175K Is this a good time to install any performance or life extension goodies?
What would you all suggest? It has a turbo back exhaust and an edge with a pyrometer. What is the most bang for the buck considering I am having the head sent out?

I started modding my 12V at 250K miles.

What transmission do you have? If an auto, you'll realize more power and drivability from building the transmission, a better TC and a shift kit, before doing engine mods. With a manual you'll need a better clutch.

Then gauges. Pyro, boost, and fuel pressure on your 24V.

Try some RV 275 Bosch injectors. Nice modest power no other mods needed with these. On mine I installed the 275s a boost elbow and boost fooler. I run 28# boost 1175 on egt when pulling. Avg. fuel is 18.5 mph.
