right about 1500-1800 rpm. If i punch half way to the floor it jumps around real hard. I blead the lines twice so i think the air is out. What else should i be looking at? Do i need to tighten the gov springs a notch?

What DV's are in a 96 auto? The 96 manuals are 215 pumps with 181's which are enough to feed the 370's don't know about the auto pump. My 95 had 131's which will cause 370's to stumble. I went with the 191's of course! So it could be your problem.

Over the years it seems the '96 auto's and older rigs have had a problem with 370's that results in the stumble you're experiencing. I think delivery valve upgrades usually fix it.

It wasn't a problem for me so I don't have first-hand experience. Hopefully someone else that has will chime in.

My timing is at 15. 5 right now. Is that enough? Don't want to go any further than needed.

(Time to change my sig... . )

I would say to get used to it. I never got rid of mine and now the 370's are history in my truck. Well let's just say 370's are now with a larger honed tip and higher popoff pressure.

Thanks guys!

If i remember correctly my springs are pretty loose already but i'll check. I cleaned the filter screen in the fuel heater (it was real dirty) and found some metal particles in it. Is that bad?

I'll check the springs tomorrow

370 stumble

Iv'e also got the stumble, but mine occurs at 1100-1200 RPM

I've got the 160 pump I've read that this isn't a good combination with 370's because the pump isn't quit capable of delivering the large amount of fuel that these injectors require. I'm gonna try bigger delivery valves 191's and a bump up with the timing. hopefully that will cure the stumble and i'll pick up a little improvement with milage and power. :p

The stumble will be there with 131, 181, '022' and completely 'cut' DV's on a 160hp pump. Been there, done that. (I'm also running ~16. 5° of timing... )

I've heard that EDM's will help the stumble even with an OEM 160hp pump...
