DMV fees.

... and if they go by ACCURATE weight, remove the spare tire and have the tank near empty (and the bed and cab empty as well) when you roll through the scales.

Excellent point,no spare, zero fuel will help. Mayflower evens it out to the next 100. lbs.

Hey, Thanks Pete... . I called Adam after I read your post and he is a great guy, still waiting to see where his quote will be. I have been doing some calculating and with an aux 91 tank and 13. 5/mpq, I should be able to make it pretty far down there. I have also been doing some research on Pemex down there, and they are reducing the ppm due to Nafta, so who knows.

Hopefully Adam will come through as I wen to WSU which is about 80 miles away and would be fun to visit.

Thanks for the reply.

Sean,

I suspect by now you've already experienced, what I was trying to capture in word, and Mel before me... Adam simply finds ways to distinguish himself from his counterparts... Can't imagine ever goining back to SD Dodge.

Our government has been supplying the border cities with American diesel for some time now due to pollution problems. I wouldn't count on them cleaning up the diesel further south. I never had a problem with their diesel on my '99. Mucho sulfer! Fuel filter always looked the same @ 10,000 miles. Those tanks down there with the detergent action of ULSD,look out! You might consider an '07 5. 9 unless your set on a C&C.

All,

Received confirmation today that my truck ordered on 19 Jan is in a hold status... Code BG! Which effectively acknowledges the order but restricts it from being scheduled for build due to some material deficiency (as explained to me "this type of hold can happen when something in your build is not available on the line". Some further digging has revealed that this may be in order to resolve some discrepancy in the the 6. 7L's EGR system...

I pass this along not 100% sure of the veracity of this report, because this could possibly explain the issues some of you are experiencing in the "Anyone know when" and What's it mean when your trucks been shipped to storage" threads...

Pete

The reason the the 6. 7 are being held up is because DC hand to change the EGR valve on the auto's and have been waiting for parts. As of today about 80% of our orders on the 6. 7 have been released to be shipped today and are being loaded on rail cars. Thought i would pass this info on to the members.

GTOo.

All the above coroboration of what Adam Macomber of Dishman Dodge had relayed to me earlier this week, came by way of Greg Thiessen Fleet Manager at TS&S Dodge & Chrysler, Bend Oregon "UPDATE on trucks shipped to storage" thread.

Order Update

Learned tonight that my order placed 19 FEB has been realesed from hold for scheduling this weekend (code BX). I'm hopeful things are getting set to resume a more normal path toward receiving a scheduled build date, VIN and ESD...

Nice build Pete,

Let us know what kind of mileage you're getting. What were the discounts you received from Dishman. They are a nice establishment to do business with. I got mine there three years ago and love it.

Blair,

In the hold period I had a chance to re-think final drive and ammended my order to 4. 10 final drive, my plan is to add a GearVendors over/underdrive unit to retain or improve upon 3. 73 like fuel economy figures whlie realizing the maximum towing capacity.

Your commentary on Dishman Dodge is dead on target, I've been dealing with Adam Macomber (509-924-3250 / 877-568-3363 / Cell 509-475-2480) in large part due to the high recomendation of fellow TDR member Mel Swanson. My experience has been stellar and Adam's professionalism has given me the confidence to do this internet thing a first for me! As for discounts Dishman has offered me in the better of cash incentives at time of order and finalization of transaction (Was $2500. 00 when I ordered and just bumped to $3000. 00 this week) plus a TDR discount of $1000. 00 and a Farm bureau discount worth an additional $500. 00... Bottom line is the worst I'll do is $4000. 00 under Invoice/FWP pricing. Additionally he sweetened the deal by providing aftermarket accessories/products and installation I desired also at a substantial discount. Now if he could just teach me patience, we'd be all set!

I've said this before here but it bears repeating "If your in the market and don't give Adam a shot at your buisiness, you'll be doing yourself a great dis-service. "

Long Drive, AYE!

It would be a L O N G drive back to Tennessee... :)

I Hear ya Les,

I'm a bit of an Alpha so I'm looking at it as a bit of a forced sabtical... I even considered a NC dealership, I've always wanted an excuse to drop in on Richard and Maurice Petty! The NC dealer wouldn't talk turkey so I'll just be doing the PACWEST jaunt instead. :-laf

PLanciers, do a search on Gear Vendors. There was a good discussion about them and one other that I can't think of right now.

Not too long ago I put 20k on the truck/trailer crossing the country several times as part of my move to Tennessee. I actually don't mind the highway miles. Since I was moving, I did mind the loading and unloading of the trailer.

Thank goodness the only loading and unloading of the trailer now is driving the show car on/off the trailer for car shows!!

Oh, and for you retired Navy sailors, remember: "There are only two kinds of ships, submarines and targets!"

Oh Les but that was back in the day when know self respecting sub skipper would get caught on the surface, or come to think of it no self respecting EP3 jock would put his aries down on Sino realestate, much has changed my friend...

Adam offered to drop ship my truck to a dealer near my home in Texas.

I wanted to turn the buying experiance into a vacation. I am now in Sacramento, CA, 1000 miles on my CTD, and going south before retuning to north Texas.
