I just installed my new front bumper from JWest (fellow TDR member). It's made from 3/16" Stainless plate, has some reinforcement in the back, and a 2" receiver in the front. Installation was a breeze, it fit perfectly, and I like the way it looks!

I bought it because I was looking for something tougher than stock. I live in an area where there are more deer than people, so after a couple of deer hits and a couple dirt pile bumps I was tired of replacing my front bumper. I looked at some of the other ones available, they are really nice, but they were more than I really wanted to spend. I saw that John was making some bumpers out of plate steel, and I asked him if he would make me one out of stainless.

I was impressed with the welding and craftsmanship of this bumper. He spent a lot of time polishing it up to make it look nice.

Since I've put it on I've got alot of compliments. I haven't hit any deer (yet) but I don't suspect I'll have any issues when I do. It's built ALOT tougher than the stock bumper.

John was a pretty straight up guy to deal with, no BS, and answered all my questions and provided pics as he was building this bumper for me. So all in all, I'd recommend this bumper for anyone else looking for an aftermarket bumper.

His craftsman ship is great.

I have one of his steel ones. I too get compliments.

wife says I have a "mad max" bumper. That is the best compliment!!

Very nice and just what I have been looking for. Is this guy making them for sale and if so how do I contact him. How expensive are they?

Thanks

Where is this J. West and how far from /WV and abt how much for a deal like this--too many deer and tired of replacing front bumpers.

Well, for mine he charged $750. But that price is for stainless, the steel ones are cheaper. Also it depends if you want anything special, etc. He's in Indiana - the best bet is to PM Jwest and talk to him about it. Thanks-
