Got my SRT-10 pillar and my Westach dual Boost/EGT gauge this week and all excited about getting them installed this weekend. That's when I notice that Geno's sent me the stantard 35 PSI boost gauge instead of the high output that I'd asked for. Called Geno's, said no problem we'll send you the right gauge but it'll be a month as they're on back order. I said how about the Di-Pricol's? Same thing, on back order but may have them a week sooner.

So now I'm questioning whether to wait for the dual gauge with 60 PSI boost or just go ahead and install the one I have sitting here. I don't plan to add injectors, larger turbo, etc. I do plan on an air intake system, 4" exhaust and a TST box or Juice sometime in the future. I've found a few posts on this subject but still haven't read enough to make up my mind. Thoughts?

More is better

It's better to have slightly more of something you need rather than less. Better to be safe than sorry. Etc. , etc. I'd wait for the 60 gauge. But that's just my opinion and everyone has one of those, right?

Do you have the elbow on to hit 35psi. . cause the most I will hit is 28psi for now.

The TST box is programmed to not give the engine any more fuel once the boost is above 35 psi. However the fuel comes on so hard and strong that I've seen boost spikes up as high as 40 and it will run steady at 37-38.

If you want to know exactly where you're at the 0-60 would be better but on the other hand with a dual gauge you don't have as much range of motion ie, less accuracy so perhaps haveing larger increments on your scale is a good thing?

Thanks for the feedback guys. I just called Geno's and the shipment of gauges came in yesterday so they will be put in the mail today. I should have them by Tuesday. Put me in a much better mood! Decision is final, go with the 50 PSI!

Yep. Put the elbow on, it sounds awesome. :D

I keep reading that our little turbos are only efficient up to 30 lbs boost.

I'm not using the elbow either.

Am I wrong, right or just confused?

Good decision. My SRT single pod pillar, along with my Westach high output dual gauge with 1/8" probe is on the way. Sounds like you are going to beat me to the install though. ;) Good luck too you. Mark.

good choice...

the other day with a load in the bed - approx 3000 lbs of salt... , on a slight grade under full load i hit 31. 5 lbs boost. other than a afe replacement filter, my engine is bone stock and a standard output also. i have no problem hitting 29 30 lbs, could do that all day long pulling out and passing people on the highway...

I'm not a turbo engineer, but efficient or not, my truck can make 35 psi easily with the elbow. I know the TST box guys are making up to 40-ish. I figure the more air the better.

When the PSI gets to 40 all you generate is heat and you will lose power and egts will shoot threw the roof. MORE AIR DOESNT MEAN BETTER (sometimes)

BRayls I keep reading conflicting reports about the 03's turbo. I'm going to make my own educated opinion and be done with it.

I'm going to try the elbow that Edge supplied with my Ez and get my own opinion.

Thanks for the input.

sorry RankRam,I seen it was really off topic and in wrong forum. I started another post in the other forum.
