Ladder Bars

We are currently building a set of ladder/traction bars for my truck and I was wondering if you guys may be interested. I will be able to get the price down if more guys are interested, they will definately be as good or better than what is on the market right now. I would like to get the price down to $350 to $450 range. I will post pics when mine are done.

A well designed set for third gens will sell. At that price you'll sell a lot of them. I need a set within the month but if I don't get them built before you get something to market I'll definitly be interested.

I'm in the market for these, but with so many different trucks, are you just going to be a custom shop? I don't see how you would get any economies of scale without 10 people with the same truck model/configuration. I'm still interested in a set for my 2nd Gen, 2500, 4x4, shortbed.

I'm wondering that too. If they need to be specific for longbed/shortbed, 4x4/4x2 then that's 4 combinations right there. Not a lot of my truck configuration running around (2wd shortbed). I had Rancho traction bars on my 2001 shortbed 2wd and they only did a mediocre job of reducing wheel hop when driving through sand.



I currently have Caltracs on my '98 and while they work well as traction bars they affect the ride and thump & bump over rough spots in the road.

I had a free day yesterday so I started making a set for myself. I'm into them about 5 hours currently and approx 80% done.



Didn't take me long to see that you would have to move an incredible volume of these things to be able to justify all the diffrent combinations it will take to accomodate all. The first thing that jumped out at me that I hadn't anticipated was the lack of space. Looking back all of the sets I had previously looked at were on lifted trucks where space wasn't a problem. On my stock truck I had a fuel tank on one side and a muffler on the other to allow for at the same time trying not to cost myself any more ground clearance than was absolutely necessary.



Moral of the story is I don't see a properly designes set of traction bars being produced and sold for 4-500 bucks at a profit. Just my opinion.
