I bought a Pedal Commander a while back. It is listed as adjusting your throttle response, however I believe it affects the torque management in some way. I cant prove it and its just "my feeling" but it has a seat of the pants feel of more than just adding in more throttle with less press of the pedal. It is smooth, yet very responsive. The transmission learns so I actually ended up turning mine down after a week or two, now it is perfect and far from its highest setting.
I did not want a race car, I just wanted it to go when I wanted it to. My truck is a pleasure to drive now. It is not just "peppier" but the shifts throughout the range are better also. Thats the main reason I believe it effects torque management in some way, whether intended or not. There are a few different brands out there, the Pedal Commander is the only one I tried. It may or may not be the solution for you, but there are options.
