I have the bucket seats and console in my 4500, the passenger seat shakes so bad without a passenger I have to wedge a book between the seat and the console. My dealer says this is a normal condition, I think they are full of it. They have checked the mounting bolts and say the loose hinge inboard is normal. They said the 4500 frame flexes. I have 14,500 miles and don't see this thing living to 50k much less 200.

Ideas?

thanks perry

robertyoke, thanks for the link, it helps to know I'm not the only one, I talked with the Sales Mgr this morning and told him about that link, I reminded him of the old adage of the sales department sells the first one and the service department sells the second. I'll give him a chance to follow up as he promised. Just a side bar they also lost my hubcap to my aluminum duals. . not too happy about that either. . and yes I would like a little cheese with my whine. . ha. .

My passenger seat has a shake too! It's annoying when the seatbelt buckle is turned sideways and it vibrates against the b pilar! Also my center console has a squeak, or rattle too. I had to shove a business card in the crack between the console and the dash. My truck has 28,000miles on it and the seat has rattled almost since day 1. the console just started a couple of months ago. think the dealer will do anything? Or are they gonna stick a rookie mechanic on it and over tighten some screws and crack some plastic? Anyone already have this dealt with?

My 2010 was smooth. The 2011 has a slight seat shake. I got back from a trip to Virginia this morning at 3:30 and had about 700 miles of opportunity to run everything from fresh asphalt paving to that broken concrete mess on I-85 through Virginia and North Carolina. It seemed to me that there might be a tire imbalance problem.

This morning I took it to a local tire store here and told them to check the balance on all four. All four were out of balance. There were no flat spots but the tech said that I would have definitely felt it. Actually the ride was good. It was a slight vibration that I couldn't tell whether it was cause by the road ripples or balance. The vibration was in sync with the seat shake. He told me to drive it a few days and let them know if there were any problems.

Just drove home 15 miles and the seat vibration is gone. Looks like the balance solved my problem. The only time it moves now is hitting little bumps in the road. I imagine that if I back down on my rear pressure a little that might help more.

Had seat vibrations also but as stated already a good tire store and wheel balancing took care of the vibration seat.

I don't know if Dodge is doing the balancing or what, but whoever is doing it, their machine is screwed up. The tire store I went to said all four were out of balance. They checked for flat spots but said there were none and that this should take care of the problem.

I received my "Improve your next truck" survey from Dodge on Friday and wrote them a pretty extensive summary of this. The balance job made a nice difference in my ride.
