I've been looking at this turbo:
DodgeZilla Turbo City Diesel - Diesel Performance
It's a hx 35/40 hybrid. I haven't called for details, but it says " largest hx40 compressor wheel available". This would be for my '01 HO6spd with jammer 2's and Edge JWA. I'm looking for spoolup near stock, but with a little more airflow and boost not over 40 psi. I can hit 36 psi now, but I'm thinking that it's mostly hot air. When I use the "hot" level 6, it really doesn't pick up noticeable power over level 4 or 5, it just smokes more. I'm thinking more air would really help clear it up on top end. I don't expect to add any more fuel than what I have now. I'm just looking for a little more cooling on top end, but I don't want to sacrfice towing or daily driving. Also, with this turbo I could save some coin by finding a used exhaust housing and not having to change my exhaust. That brings me to another question. Should I look for a 12 or 14 cm exhaust housing? I was thinking 14, but to tell the truth, I don't know what I have now. I won't be making this purchase anytime soon, but I'm one of those guys who likes to do a lot of research and takes so much time to save up money and make a decision that by the time I'm ready to buy, I really feel good and have all the details on hand.
I'm just looking for opinions here. Who has run this or a similar turbo? Would you do it again? What were the ups and downs of that setup? Thanks in advance for any and all comments and advice.
