I just had a Line X brand bed liner installed. I got rid of the Chrysler brand liner I put in when I bought the truck. What a POS. The liner was as thin as paper. Anyway, the quality of the product is excellent. I lucked out and found a Line X installer that does a super prep job. I know. I stood there and watched him. The truck now looks sooo much better. I had him pull the liner down over the side to the bottom body line that starts at the front of the cab and goes rearward along the bed and around the tail gate. A bit expensive, but the resulting product is well worth it. Oo.

You'll be happy with the Line-X, Many of us are. I've had mine on two different trucks and abused the he** out of them and the lining puts up with it.

Did you happen to get the UV overcoating? It will keep it looking glossy for a long time.

Kev

Line-X commercial coating

It also helps to ask the Line-X installer to give you a commercial thickness. It's a tad more expensive but worth it, in my opinion.

Mine gets done next week!!!

I think I'll go to that body line too. It's kinda like bombing, always want to do a little more. Probably gonna to do the lowers up to the 1st body line, colored to match the truck... no more stone chips. Thinking about doing the nerf bars too. Somebody stop me!!!

I didn't know Line-X did color-coded stuff on the lower body. My line is over-the-rail, which protects the top of the truck bed. You say installers do the lower parts too where the 2-tone colors are?

What'd you end up paying? I am getting mine done next week... and I have it set at $425 for over the rails... curious if that;s competitive.

I just had mine done about 3 weeks ago and the dealer gave me a $20 discount, regular price was about $416. Your in the ball park for sure. I'm not for sure but I think X-Liner is the only company that has a warranty.

Was not told about "UV" undercoating. I was told Line X comes in one color. Black. I paid $510. 00 out the door. The price seemed a bit high, but what's new in SO CAL.

The installer checked the thickness of the material with a neat electronic guage thing. It was . 120". I can see the quality of the job is totally dependent on the prep man. It is a neat product. Two 50 gallon drums mixed by the sprayer. The two chemically react like two part epoxy and the product hardness to a usable finish in 3 minutes. The product becomes quite warm as it sets up.

I'm planning on getting Line-X later. I'm getting other things done for now. Any scratches that might happen in there will be sanded out before installation of Line-X.

Line-x has a lifetime warranty. As long as YOU own the truck they will fix it no matter where you are in the USA... so even if traveling and something happens they'll fix it for you there.

AND it does come in colors. They can colormatch quite a bit... BUT if something does hurt it (which most people say is unlikely) they end up re-doing the entire deal because it;s impossible to match the exact color a 2nd time... so they re-do it all in order to make the color even... . but I do believe the colors are covered under the warranty as well.

This is all per the Line-X of Ocala who does a lot of the dealer work for this area. So basically they stand by their product (or at least say they do) no matter what.

I am considering having my rocker panels and lower rear fenders (I guess those are rocker panels too) done later on down the road.

I think that's about what I paid. I'd hang around though and make sure the bed is completely sanded and dry before the application goes on. You'll have to tell the guy ahead of time that you want a commercial thickness. I'm not sure it's necessary but common sense says thicker is better.

You can certainly get your money back on resale.

I had them spray my rockers then paint them black to match my truck. Don't ask me why, but you can't chip the paint on the line-xd rockers. Awesome setup.

RR

Spray the whole truck!

Hell, considering how easy rocks chip the paint off these Dodges, I think I'll have my whole **** truck sprayed! :-laf :-laf :-laf

Don't laugh, a good buddy of mine did just that. 65 Ford pickup, completely olive green Armacoated!!! Awesome... ... . but heavy!!!

I was told that you can have your rockers sprayed and then have them clear coated. Has anyone heard of this? I am going to have my bed and rockers done but I am worried about it fading along the rockers. I have a black truck and have seen the paint fade with a white haze directly behind the wheel well.

I asked the owner of the Line X shop and he said no, it only comes in black. Now maybe he only buys black, but he was adamant about no other color being available.

(That's kinda what I thought too!)

I too was told it only came in black - in previous years they had tried colors, but fading was an issue...

The LineX was the first thing done to my truck - was a bit over $500 dollars total - over the rail...
