Competition The ultimate competition

Hey guys thanks for letting one of the East coast boys hang out. I felt at home other than all those F#%DS, that little red one had about a 600hp miscalculation on his license plate.

I was a little shy, so I would like to thank, Cody, John and Wes for making it easy for me.

Ken

"Texas Flash"?

Dean Morehead didn't make it?

Thanks for documenting things so well, good job.

Looks like the Cummins camp showed well ;)

Ya think my truck would hold up against that Ford "Red Rocket"?

Not trying to purposely knock the f@rd Rocket, but every time there is a good crowd around, it croaks. I know the guys wrench that thing awfully hard, but it never lives up to its billing. I second KennyM (eventhough I missed meeting him:rolleyes: ) he needs to ditch the 1000 HP license plate. I wish him well in finding power, but please ditch the plate or re-number it :D :D .

HVAC, it would not only hold up, you could probably pull him through the quarter faster than that thing has ever been down it.....  :D :D . Their second truck (the white one) didn't do any better. Maybe they were sandbagging... ..... NNNAAAHHH :D :D

Good job guys! And my congratulations to Mark for being the "Top Dog" at the event. If any of you feel lik a road trip we are having a dyno day here in Pennsylvania on Oct 5th and everyone is welcome.

Doug

I was really hoping there was something wrong with the red rocket... I wanted to believe it had more power in it:). Regardless, I think the license plate has to go.

Kenny, it was good to have a NE representative to witness the action, and to have plenty of time to sit around and talk about trucks:D. It was also great to meet John and Cody, thanks for meeting up in Waco (it made the drive more interesting). You guys both put up solid numbers as well, good job!

Wes

good time

well he had a great time, met alot of great people and saw a lot of good looking trucks(Dodge & Ford).

Jim: next time I hope to see the 12 screeming (just make sure you have good brakes so you don't slide through the stop sign:D )

andrew: great to meet you, very funny, just watch those gaurd dogs ;) they'll take your arm off. hopefully next time we can hook up the pump wire.

everyone else: great to meet yall can't wait till next time.

maybe then I will FINALLY break the 400 hp mark

P. S. merrick Stop smiling... ... ... ..... great job nice truck

Ya'll made us proud

It's good to keep the Ford boys in their place, behind a Dodge and let them know where the horsepower is.

Nowel,

I wanted to go, but have been busy with the VGT ( I've been reworking alot things that need to be done before I put this other one on. ) Also been playing with an electric powered Ranger. How would you replace and pay for 26 Optima yellow tops.

What do you think a VP44 would do @ 110v?Oo.

dyno days

I had a super time and met a bunch of great guys. I talked to the owner of the Ford and he is a great guy. At 400+ hp it makes a lot more than mine. The red ford was very cool no doubt about it, even if it did not run as good as he wonted, I don't know any thing about that.

The fun thing about the whole thing was trying to put a face with the user names, wow a great bunch of guys. The twins that Mark has is very cool. I will say that he tests the heck out of it.

I wish I had shot some pictures of the truck, the owner with it and their user name. Jim's truck ran good and a lot of others also

I got a chance to meet DonM and he is very sharp guy. For me the whole thing was to meet some of the members and see their trucks. I did not dyno my truck as it would have been like watching fruit change color. Comparing dyno to drag racing was interesting also. Especially the drive train. I am not interested in a brand war just having fun. LOL to all of the guys JimK

Please don't confuse me with Mark..... :p I will give it my best shot next time. (don't let the cat out of the bag) Piers may end up with my pump! My neighbor just hit me up today to buy my Sonoma(backup) so the pressure is on! South of OKC I passed a dually pulling a trailer, as I passed him I hit the throttle a few times for some smoke and he flashed his lights at me(night time) so I covered the road for him;)

Jim (it's all good)

Thanks to Don Morrison (remember him) and his wife for cooking for the dyno crew(sorry I didn't know your cooking plan) Don you have a nice family there:) Sweet wife and cool kids!;)

Nice numbers I see I missed and a good job to all who did their civic duty and destroyed the hopes of yet another group of Fords. I just had a little discussion somewhere else about these "Big Powered Fords" who say that they have a LARGE amount of power under the hood, only to be humbled by yet another Dynojet, must be a Ford thing and I do not understand it.

I also seem to see alot of guys here making some comments about their numbers being off and seeming a little confused. Did anyone do the weather readings for the day to see how much the weather was off from the previous dyno event. I'd be willing to bet thats one place where the difference may lie. The other could be in the difference in fuels used between now and then, small chance but it will affect HP and torque.

Then the single most interesting comment of the whole event came to light for me and all I do is quote it and not comment on it,It speaks for itself... ...

"No Don was there but had clutch trouble. "

Congrats to all who laid down some nice numbers... ... Andy

confusion....... never

Jim: I can't confuse you with mark mark is overvalved(but defitnitely not repeat NOT underpowered:eek: ) not to worrie lips are sealed.

Well, I'm sorry I couldn't bring my '01 with a stock turbo and exhaust down there and throw up a number for you guys... . but oh well, I will be there next time. Mark all those improvements and you are still 24/202 shy?? Just giving you some hell...

Just talked to Don M... Finally figured out what was wrong with his truck... . had a string of trouble with the slave cylinder:mad:

Just got home. Had a good time hanging out with all the "guys".

Nice to meat yall,, I saw some familiar faces, and a bunch of new ones.

Didn't do too bad if I don't say so myself :D

and if I'm still smiling??,, well, my girlfriend thinks my face is broke, as nothing she says is wiping this smile off. I was so happy, I even bought KatDiesel and Floor It Dinner! :)

457/950 I think I was top 3. :D :D

How about Motor only?,, What did Mark make on motor only?

I had a blast guys,, I was bummed I had to dyno so late in the day,, but I did get to Dyno :D :D

Glad yall made it back safe.

Stuck smile,

Merrick Cummings Jr

Nice Job BIG BOY!

Way to go Merrick;)

Mark, your truck ROCKS! I couldn't hardly drive home last night. My truck felt like stock after riding with you! What happened at the intersection when you left? We saw it puffing smoke rings, but couldn't figure out what happened.

Got out of the NOS too fast and killed it. . A little crankin blew it out:cool:

The dyno was too light to get the boost up fast and killed the HP. It was like running down a BIG hill with a BIG tailwind. I would guess that Kat's 460 could have been more like 500.

The NOS was the only reason for the TQ and HP to come on any where near normal.

I think it was 488. I ran 42x on injectors and timing box, 488 on diesel. and 527 on N2O.

they were all way low though. with kat's 8. 5 1/8th he HAS to have ~500. I dunno what I have. I need to find a brake dyno.

Later,

Mark

just got home.....

Ok gang, one thing. That 409 the little red Ford did, was only with 24lbs of boost. That ain't too shabby I think. They have had trouble getting a chip programed to go along with the HUGE injectors they are now running. The old "stage 2" injectors they were running before flowed around 150cc, and the ones they have now are over 300cc. Now they just need the boost, and the fuel from the chip now that they can deliver it. David is a SUPPER GREAT GUY!!!

drice,

yes i am funny looking, and no that pump wire will stay where it is thank you!!! :p

QUOTE OF THE DAY... .

Don_M talking to me when Merrick's truck came around with his Amsoil stickers on it...

"Oh man, if I touch that truck, I'll catch on fire"... . :laff

Merrick,

I let you crash at my girls house with me and her, pick you up at 3:00am, and let you follow me ALL THE WAY to and from Munice, and you have YET to buy me dinner.

Andrew

Sorry if I sound to tough on the Diesel Innovation guys (big Red F@rd Truck) in my previous post, it's not intended. I agree they are a very knowledgeable shop, my brother has dealt with them and they treated him great !!!!

As anyone who has dealt in motorsports knows, sometimes things happen. I will be the first to congratulate them when they find the horsepower. My buddie only made 368 HP and 795 TQ, we were looking for about 40 more HP. Back to the drawing board... ... .

P. S. Not apologizing for the previous post, just clarifying..... I hope... ... .

Jim Fullmller,

Remember those pics we talked about? :D Send them to -- email address removed -- and I'll help you when you get your new turbo. ;)

I did say Fulmer that time right? ;)

Actually my best was 8. 40 @ 80. 19 mph I think. Which is my best ever. I was going easy being first time down t hat track... it was a tad bit disorganized. This was with ¾ tank of fuel, as well which means I was weighing more then I usually do.

The 8. 5 was with me sliding sideways in 4 wheel drive. I was a lil too aggressive on that one.

Just got home after driving all day.

I'll just keep the "dyno sheet" and carry it... and say this is all I got... ... wanna run'em? ;)

The weather was great actually. So toss that out the window.

I can say that my truck drives 10x better then the last time I had it dynoed... ... so regardless what power level it is I love it even more now. Its a blast with the Comp OFF! Ask Merrick... ... hehe.

I think "my" setup was just too "quick" for that dyno... ... . I mean on my runs if you blinked... ... . you missed it. It seems some of the "slower" setups that took a lil bit registered good numbers.

Glad to see you made it home Merrick... ... we gotta meet up again at another event... . between your stacks and my hood we get enough looks. Thanks for dinner... . and hanging out with us.

Jim ... ... hope I don't get no chiropractor bill anytime soon from you ;) You should have seen the lanch at the strip... ... . double the one I did on you.
