Yesterday I Had a little buick rust bucket zip around me doing about 80 in a 45 then slam on his brakes #ad
, think he wanted a new car. So I slammed on mine, no choice, the brakes locked up and wouldn't unlock! #ad
When I pulled up behind him at the stoplight (moron) I was going to tag him but decided that's what he probably wanted.

Front brakes skidded a good 40 ft before they finally released -- me applying throttle at about the 15 ft mark. I was only going around 40 to begin with, so didn't take long to back off.

Nice big flat spots in the front tires now. Ker thump, ker thump, ...

So much for antilocks. I don't care about the antilocks not working (hate the damn things) but I am annoyed the brakes wouldn't release.

you know every once in a while mine does this too, I can hit the brakes and one of two things will happen, A) the truck will come to a hault very quickly without even a chirp from the tires nice and straight B) The truck will start to stop then all of a sudden the tires will squeal and the ABS gets all annoyed, I wonder what might be causing this? Maybe a defective sensor or something???

Do you have 4 wheel ABS? If not, I wouldn't think the ABS would have anything to do with the front brakes. I'm not too familiar with the newer trucks, as the ol' 95 only has rear ABS.

Yep, 4w abs. No doubt about that. Whenever I go over bumps while braking the brakes fail. Guess it's time for a trip to the dealer.

Guess it's just another one of those "improvements" they make. Makes you wonder why they can't just leave well enough alone.
