Well, the issue persists, it's unpredictable and does the same thing with both ECUs. I now have it set up where I can do a plug-n-play swap of ECUs if needed in less than 30 minutes.. and will carry the spare and tools needed should an ECU give up at some point.. It seems it has to be something in the ECUs and since both do it, seems it has to be by design/programming.. but what it is that triggers this condition and how it somehow continues communication with every other module, but won't communicate with any scan tool.. that I have no clue on what it can be.. at this point it's looking like something I'll just have to live with. Pretty annoying. The most annoying part is not being able to solve this mystery. I really hate that!
