I called the friendly folks on Dodge's Customer "Assistance" line today to inquire about lowering the rear of my new '03 2500 (like TSB 02-001-01) so that it would be closer to the height of my 5th wheel.

The response for the phone person's "technical source" was that no kit was available and there wasn't any commitment to produce one. However the tecnical source thought since they had made one for the previous model year, they would also make one for the '03's... oh by the way, there's NO commitment to make one.

The suggestion was to check back with my dealer periodically (and no we can't put you on a list and notify you if it becomes avialable), or try the aftermarket.

Has anyone found a lowering kick in the aftermarket?

So far, I really like the '03 (except for the height issue) but it's definitely alot taller than my '01 4x2.

Your sig says you have a 4x4. If so there are two 1/2" plates stacked inbetween the axle and springs. You could take those out and get an inch of drop in the rear.

Jay,I had to have special bracket made to raise the axles so my bed rails would not hit the trailer,If you raise the pintle the rear could hit when entering and leaveing driveways,I had to raise my trailers 2".

No I haven't, I will actually be adding to mine very soon.

It shouldn't affect the abs at all, but if it uses the proportioning valve like the 2nd gen trucks did then it will be applying more pressure to the brakes after you lower it, as it will think it's loaded. *IF it uses that setup*

After all, any lowering kit for the rear will net the same result as taking out the block, weather it be lower springs, or shackles, or whatever.

You might want to call Denver spring and axle (located downtown off of Brighton Blvd. , down the street from Pepsi co. ). My father in law just went their to level the height of his truck. The owner even owns a Dodge. Hope this helps.

Thank you

Thanks to everyone for the info... I'll probably wait awhile since we are near the end of the camping season and see if the Dodge boys come out with something. If not, I'll visit Denver Frame & Axle!
