Hello all,

I'm thinking about buying a set of the Luverne Megasteps for my 07 reg cab. I like the look and such. How do they hold up? I can't find any weight ratings on the Luverne site. I need them to handle up to 300 lbs. I'm also looking at the Nasta stainless steel nerf bars with stainless hardware.

If you would, please let me know the good and bad on the Luverne steps.

Thanks,

Earl

I don't have the Luverne Mega Step, but I have the Luverne Running Boards and the BoxBoards. I'm very happy with them as I believe they make very good products. They look great. Click on Luverne.

I do have Luverne Megasteps - there is info available using search. Luverne has installation instructions on thier website - that is the best way to see how sturdy they are. They have all-thread kickers that extend from brackets (mounted to the body mount bolts) to the frame itself. Makes them very strong pushing down, yet allows them to flex a little up (if you scrape a trail obstactle). As a matter of fact, they don't flex down at all, which feels very nice. One thing you should know is that they only look like tubing. It is actually a stainless steel facade riveted onto an extruded aluminum step. They allow for small adjustment in and out, but to adjust up you must use spacers between the brackets and the step boards.

If you are worried about their rating, it would be a simple matter to replace the all-thread kickers with whatever size all-thread you want to increase their rating . . . otherwise, you had better call them. I am only 200#, but I can shake the truck with mine.

Thanks for the info guys. I emailed Luverne and they said the Megasteps are rated @ 425 lbs. I haven't made my choice yet, but I'm leaning towards the Megasteps.

Thanks again,

Earl
