Group Attendance Update

Got some more info from the event coordinator, he is new this year and doing things a little differently.

Here is the link to the event flyer.

Should be a good time.

They are opening the gates for sponsors, vendors and display folks at 08:00. They are going to open the gates for the general public as soon as all of the sponsors, vendors and displays get in. They recommended that we get there as close to 08:00 as possible if we would all like to park together in the pit area. They do not offer group parking corrals anymore.

Here is the breakdown on the entry fees. Subtract $3. 00 from the admission price if we have 25 paying adults in the group.

General Admission $18. 00

Parking 2. 00

Race Entry/ 10. 00

Pit Side Parking

Show/Shine Entry 5. 00

I think we all want to park together in the pit area. It is worth the extra $10. 00 for the pit spot even if you are not racing. If you are showing and racing you can leave your show spot to race. Racers will be given a wristband once they pass safety inspection and sign the waiver. If you are running 13. 99 and below you will need a SNELL 90 helmet. I think you need a rollbar if you are running in the 11's.

We need to set up some meeting spots/convoys so we can get everyone there at the same time.

Please drop me an email

-- email address removed --

if you are fairly sure you are going to make it, include the number of folks that will be coming with you. They would like a rough idea of the number of trucks/people so they will have an idea were to set us up. I will send out updates to folks that drop me an email.

Thanks,

Dave

Helmets

Helmets! Darn it, I didn't even think about that. Hopefully after this weekend the truck will be quick enough that I will need one. Any idea how much they run?

Camping/Helmet

Rammin On: I will be camping at wiredawg's campground (Duncans).

TKOBI: I am bringing one of my bike helmets if you need to borrow it. I was originally bringing it for JetPilot, but he told me Hammer is getting one for him. You're welcome to use it.

Helmets

TKOBI I bought mine at the local Harley Davidson shop for $109 it is rated as a Snell 2000.

They said if we show up early at the gate they will park us all together in the pits. So I propose we meet up and get to the gates inbetween 0700 and 0730. I'm ready! The truck isn't, but I am! LOL

John...

From what I've heard through the jungle drums ... most are staying at a KOA somewhere near Fredricksburg ... much closer to MIR ... . am I right ... ????? Was hoping we all could try and be at the same location so we can lie to each other ... . until Sat that is . . :D :D

Well ... . I might not make it ... unless ... I get a new trans in the next week or so ... going to do some testing this afternoon and see if I can pin down the problem.

When is everyone heading that way...

I have to work Friday til 3:30 p. m. Are you guys planning on leaving Fri. night or early Sat. morning?Meeting at the park and ride again?..... Doug

Hotel Accomodations

Briar, Steve, and I are staying at the Fredericksburg, VA Best Western April 26th and La Plata Best Western APril 27th. We will be at the gates at 0730 so we can all gather and park together!

Dave,

I'm keepin' that day open on Wifey's honey-do schedule. ;)

I'll be Cummins;) from North Arlington Virginia area.

Where, when to meet to catch up with the M-D TDR group?

Meeting place the morning of the 27th for north 301

Good evening.

We are going to stay in the Monroe Bay Campground, in Colonial Beach Virginia. It looks like roughly 15 miles off of 301 on 218. I plan on getting up there mid afternoon on Friday. I have never stayed there before, my wife picked that one from the write up on the Woodall's site. Call me what ever you want to but there has never been a truer statement than : "If momma ain't happy ain't nobody happy"

Eric

If you don't mind I would like to join up with you folks and convoy the rest of the way to MIR.

What time do you figure on being at the Bridge? I do not know the area. Or is there a better place to meet up?????

So far no one that I have seen is sitting up a meeting spot for us coming up 301 North.

Do you have a CB ? If so what channel do you run?

Looking forward to seeing you again. The last time was in Ten. in early 2000.

See Ya

Chris

meet up.

Let's set up a place to meet. I am not familiar with the area, Briar is. I had to take my CB out during construction and have not replaced it. Let me know where to meet up with you, maybe where 218 combines with 301?? Anyone else??? We have to get together at the gate no matter what.

meet up

Shovelhead: Will you be coming around 495 to 5 to 301? If so, maybe there is some place between the merge of 5 and 301 and Waldorf that we can meet. I will be coming down 301 from Wiredawg's campground, along with whovever else meets at the 301 & 4 intersection he mentioned in his post.

FFutch: I don't know if Don or Wirenut are going and if so, when. I am going down to Wiredawg's campground on Friday afternoon and returning on Sunday, so I won't be at the park-n-ride on 70.

Hey guys it looks like I will be staying right on 301. I want to meet up with everyone enroute to MIR. Let me know where a good place and time is.....

Doug

jstyer,

I'll be comming through DC probably taking 210 to 228 into Waldorf to pick up 301.

There's a Circuit City at the corner of 228 & 301 in a Shopping Center that we use as a meeting point when we do bike rides.

I can wait there for the group to run past at that point.

I'll try to be there about 0700hrs. Will that work?

What CB channel do you run on?

I usually try to be at least 15 to 20 min. early for everything.

(habit I picked-up from my father)

plan

Shovelhead: Sounds like a plan to me! I picked up the same habit, hate being late. Will run on channel 19 probably, CB handle is "Animal".

John

Aw, Eric, say it ain't so ! 7:30 is too dang-blasted early! Particularly considering the way Steve keeps us up all night partying ! :D The gates don't open until 10:00 a. m. Getting there around 9:00a. m. should do the trick, you think?... which means meeting up south of the bridge around 8:30a. m. Besides, I have to wash the truck in the morning, the event is as much a Show 'n' Shine as it is a drag race... .

We'll be taking the 218 from Fredericksburg to where it meets the 301 in Owens, VA. We can discuss the time a little more...
