Any one try the 6. 7L with the manual G56 and exhaust brake? How was it down shifting through the gears? The Auto was really nice but $2500 option.

I have on order a 5500 with auto and exhaust brake... its still sitting in Mexico... It's in a lot and has been sitting there since 1 Aug...

I've installed several on the Duramax and Allison, its a really strong combination, where the transmission down shifts at the right spot. .

I have not driven a 6. 7L yet..... maybe I should do so... .

The e-brake with the manual transmition performs vary well. I tow a trailer that is about 10,000 loaded. Vary steep grades in second or third, just have to touch the brakes in the tightest of turns. Sure saves the brakes. There are some places here, I put the truck in four low and third or fourth gear and samething idle down the grade.

I have the 6. 7 w/G56 and e-brake. 2K miles, no loads, but seems to work good on the down grades while down shifting all the way to 2nd gear, pulls down nice.
