Smarty or TST PowerMax3?

Stock turbo VS. SPS62

I am fixing to install an inline pump with adjustable by-pass valve and a draw straw. I have read that it's not good to over pressure the IP and also read that 25# should be the max. press to the IP. Is this correct? I want to run 20-25# if it is not to much for the IP, and will the extra 10# help with engine power?

I ran mine at 40 psi for about amonth and it did not hurt it but it is not recommended as anything over 30 can destroy the diaphram in the vp44, i had no trouble at all and it did not help the power as the vp will only allow what its set for as far as fuel is concerned. You will be fine with 20 - 25 this is what mine runs at, been like that for a while. Not sure if you need the bypass valve though , the vp 44 will return any unused fuel back to the tank anyway. Good luck, hope this helps you.

Thanks DD. I think I'm going with the Walbro 392 and it's supposed to put up 80 - 90#. With the by pass, I hope to keep from blowing my filter apart and save the VP from having to send so much back to the tank. Really appreciate the response.

My LP ran at 26psi idle and 22psi WOT when I fixed up the fuel system last summer. It was strongly suggested to get the pressure down to 15psi max. You don't hear of too many "high" pressure problems but I tweaked the bypass to get it down there anyway. Now it's 15psi idle, 13 cruise and 12 WOT.

Thanks guys, I have been talking to our Dodge dealers head service man. He suggested that I stay at 22# or less at idle. He said this was his opinion and it did vary some from the company recommended 15-16 max. I will probably play with it a bit, I just want to stay at 12-14# WOT. Sure makes me nerveous when the gauge goes to 9#

Thanks again.
