Hi,

Does anyone know where I could get a pair of fenders from a Mega Cab Dually 06-08? I have a 2003 QC and was looking to change the look alittle. Are do you know if anyone has done this and may have some pictures.

Thanks Ragingcajun

One of the guys on the DTR website did it to his truck. It actually looked better than I though it would because I am no fan of the mega fender flares...

Ragingcajun: Check out the thread "Hauling Bed Conversion Complete". He put Mega Cab fenders on a long-bed that he converted for towing. I've done a similar thing to my 03 2500, which I've installed a dually axle on. I just haven't done the fenders yet. I'd be interested in getting a set of Mega Cab fenders myself. I kinda' like the looks... -Trey

I like the look too looks like a first gen dually fender etc. . cool when you do this take pics and post them up!

Thanks,

Deo

I got the part numbers for the inner and outer fenders from my Dodge dealer about a year ago. It came to about 1500 dollars. Too much to make it worth it for me. I had thought about making some myself and figured to use a set of steel trailer fenders with the correct width and radius to fit. Cut the inside edge to fit. They could be bolted to the wheel opening on the box. More work would be needed to make them look as good as they should and I haven't got that part thought out yet. After I get my welding cert completed and get a good TIG I'll start experimenting.

Hey Guys I am the one that did the bed conversion last year. The price that you were quoted for for standard fenders and I believe that is even an old price now. When I bought my Megacab fenders from Dodge They list somewhere in the range of $750 ea. I bought my wholesale and they cost me around $550 Each. Hope this helps

Has anyone done the measurements on how to make a set of dually rear wheels sit properly on a non-dually axle? I've been kicking this idea around since I first say the mmega cab dually come out, just haven't got the ball rolling on it due to time and life being in the way. I would expect multiple spacers, probably as much as 4" from the rotor and possibly a 2" between the rims to get the width and offsets correct. I think it would look really cool to have a qc shortbox dually, and would handle my truck camper so much better.

Hi guys,

I just had my 08 Mega Cab cut and made into a long box dually last week. They had a few take off boxes that they could probably sell the fenders from a lot cheaper than Dodge.

Innovative Customs in Lehi Ut. did the work. Awesome job by the way!!

Their # is 866-244-5455 or 801-766-5249.

Let me know if it works out for you.

MarcS,

The 08 Dually axle is 75-1/4" from mounting flange to mounting flange that wheels sit on. the 3/4 ton is 71-3/4". A total of 3-1/2". For my 19. 5" wheels, a 1-3/4" spacer on each side clears the calipers easily. Don't know about the 17" wheels. One other thing, the dually axle is it's about 2" narrower than the 3/4 ton to bring the calipers further inward to clear the wheels. But as I said. 1-3/4" spacers would still cear the 19. 5 wheels no problem. If you go spacers, you will need lug centric wheels since they can't machine the hub centering ring on the adaptor (it would have to be about 1/32" thick)

I have hub centric wheels so I chose the more expensive route of just changing the axle. I will be doing this tonight.

I also went the route of just changing the axle. Took about 6 hours from start to finish to do the complete swap on two trucks. Dually to SRW and SRW to Dually. I myself didn't want to put that much load on an "adapter". -Trey
