Geez, is it $20 even if we aren't gonna pull but want to hang out with those that are pulling?

yeah, it'll cost whoever enters the pit area pulling or not, $20. It didn't used to be this way. Used to be a Flat rate gate fee and pullers got in free. The hook fee then would be about $25.

But alot of people would say they are pulling, but then not, to get passed the gate fee. So they charge everybody entering the pit a gate fee, then lower the hook fee. So those that do pull the hook fee would be minus the gate fee.

We should be at Reds by 3:00 anyway. Depending on how long or if we can hold everybody off, we'll be leaving here early afternoon. 1. 5 hr drive to reds, we'll be there. Joe told all his buddies to meet him at noon on saturday. I am sure we'll head to the pull by about 6:00 to get a good spot.

Ya'll please let me know if we need to wait on anybody. I'll have my Cell phone on regardless and can steer ya'll to us. Really just want us all to pile into the pull together! Here come them Mid-Tenn dodges!!!

My "mini-convoy" is leaving Dickson at 4PM if anyone wants to leave out later than noon. We decided that three hours at Red's house was too long. We should get there in time to join the parade to the pull though.

Hans, I got your problem on my mind... but nothing is ringing a bell yet. Electrical problems suck for sure.

Daddy smoked two county sherrifs cars last night. He was passing a car and playing around when he saw to county boys outside there car talking in a parking lot when he passed them. Said he saw them look at him and start running towards there cars so he floored it!(he just got a ticket earlier in the week for laying black marks in 4wd in front of city hall) Covered the road up! He took the first back road towards the house! He could see the blue lights shining through the smoke every now and then, so he stayed in it. Dove the truck sideways into the driveway behind the shop, out of sight from the road, and pulled the truck in the back door of the shop with the lights out. He was pecking out the front door of the shop and said they cruised the neighborhood for 45 minutes spotlighting!

Crazy old fart! :D

Aight, got it nailed down for tomorrow. Mark is meeting me at noon, we are getting him on the trailer and then we are out, we should be at Joe's about 1 'ish... Brake box is working, THANKS MARK!!! So we should all be able to follow you all to Red's. Like Mark said, even if when we pull in, you all jump in your ride's and we roll out, that's cool. Otherwise, Mark will be calling someone for directions to Red's house so he can write them down. If something unforseen comes along, I will call Gap or Joe to let you all know. C Yas tomorrow!!!!!

Gap, they didn't just follow your Dad's smoke trail???!!! :D :D :-laf

The Sniper-mobile now has a functioning brake box thanks to yours truely... . "Got Smoke? Electrician In Training" :-laf

This SUCKS!! I have to work tomorrow. Off @ Noon though. I still needed to get the following items done.

(Red's shop maybe?)

#1 Suspension Blocks

#2 Drill out one of my weight bracket holes... doesn't line up to reciever tube

#3 Get two scrap pieces of metal to wedge in behind my tow hook brackets so they don't sag down so far when I hang 600lbs off the front. :-laf

The 'ol lady doesn't understand why we're leaving @ Noon when the pull doesn't start till 7PM and its only 3 hrs away..... "honey... . everybody is convoying down"... ... . "I still don't understand why we are... ... . " :rolleyes: :-{}

Shay I sure hope Shannon and her get along real nice tomorrow, will take a lot of heat of my back. :-laf

Geez what is going on with the diesel fuel prices? Gasoline average drops 20 cents over the last 2 weeks but now diesel is around $3. 50/gallon. Has anyone heard any reasoning on this?

Still on the fence for tomorrow. Batteries have been disconnected since yesterday. If it starts tomorrow, then I'll try to be there. Otherwise, I'll be staying in Memphis.

Lafayette, TN pull 10/14

Macon county (Lafayette) is haveing a pull 10/14

Its non sanction diesel truck class NO rules apply Run What Ya Brung 75% pay back for 1st 2nd & 3rd

I owe my hometown something for getting my @$$ spanked last time. Think I'm gonna throw the stock turbo back on, borrow Cuz's tires again, dial the fuel back some, and run 2nd hi and drag 'er out the gate! Oo. Oo.

Ed if your reading this..... now we DEFANTELY have to get my brackets welded soon! :-laf

Well, I ain't a gonna make it. Thought about it pretty seriously, but too much to do here. And that $109 fill-up yesterday was a smack in the face. Whoops, them black marks and blackened skies are getting pricey.

So yall have fun. And if'n anybody wants to front the money--pick up my gauges from Joe Squaretire.

Maybe Red can get there without being handcuffed. :D

You didn't miss much fearless leader. :rolleyes: :{

After 3. 5 hrs in the back of Sniper's 04. 5 3500 we got rained out! :{ :{ :{

I want to say a huge THANK YOU! to my budday Shay & his g/f Shannon for hauling my truck all the way down there, only to load it right back up and drive all the way back. Sorry I didn't get to put on a show for you guys. :(

I'm even saying thanks after he's going to get on here and post how I "thought" I lost my cell phone and it was actually on the seat belt, I had thought it was clipped to "MY" belt and started thinking I had left it on the trailer when fooling with the truck at reds while we were on the way to the pull.

ya'll should have come to ms. mike pullled 349'. i was the first puller in the class so i pulled twice. i pulled 334' first time and 343' second time. no rain. good pull

Show, What Show?

And we all thought you was there to watch the show like we was, we didn't even know you WAS the show!

It was a pretty good show watching you cinch up your panties, cause your truck wouldn't go into 4wd. Then, after you backed up to reposition the truck so you could work on it. It engaged. Awesome!

yeah it sucked, that was already the 3rd rescheduling of that pull due to rain-outs. Had a good time BSing with everybody in the shop though. The highlight of the "Pull" was watching everybody try to get out of the pits. It's a bowl shaped track and the sled got stuck, many semi's pulling trailers, yada, yada.

Probably funniest thing that happened is after Red took Meacham for a ride in ol smokey! Daddy said he'd of paid $100 for a picture of meacham face. Daddys 27 yrs of drag and dirt car racing comes out in his driving sometimes. :D

no pull but sure was fun bsing at reds and watching mark run around like a chicken with his head cut off. wish mark could of put on a show for us. i think he could have out pulled red :-laf

Sounds like they didnt' have enough weight on the sled? Thats some long pulls. Flame throwing lengths!

It'd of been a good pull in Atwood too if it hadn't of rained. 4th time the pull has been rained out. . Guess we just not meant to have one. At least ya'll got to pull.

On this 96, when I turn the key to start, it'll sit there dead for about 3 seconds, then crank and fire up. Any ideas why the delay?

Andy,

That sounds to me like starter contacts. I put a set of Larry b's in mine. Cheap insurance and an easy job. I did mine because of some of the threads about the starter contacts binding up and the starter staying on until something got burnt up.

By the way, welcome to the world of owning a 10 year old truck. ;) I am ALMOST through my repair/maintenance list of things to do to mine. I've had the truck now for a little over 3 years. My wife asks me now, "Besides working on your truck, what do you have planned for your day off?" :-laf Nothing really major but a LOT of little nit-picky stuff. I still need to replace my fuel sending unit (it's been behind my seat about 18 months now), fix a couple of oil leaks (ones the oil pan, BIG fun), shocks, and change the rear end lube. I enjoy it though.

I had kind of wondered if the started contacts could have anything to do with it.

There's a pretty lightweight spring on the AFC that he said is to keep it from sticking. I heard Meacham say something about the AFC sticking and truck not wanting to start to a guy at our meeting, but didn't have a 12v at the time, and I didn't pay much attention (stupid me).

Yeah, this truck MAY nit pick me to death. Some people say I'm kinda picky about a clean truck. :D

if anyone is interested i have a set of 16x10 eagle rims 058 with either a set of 305/70r16 buckshots with 2000 miles or a set of bridgestone dueller a/t's with 10 miles for sale.
